"I can only celebrate the most extremely awesome week my family spent in Corea Maine. 211 shark cove is the most relaxing, best view and highly sought vacation property overlooking prospect harbor and the sunsets are amazing coupled with the morning coffee, watching the lobster boats work sitting on the deck. The hone has a path down to the water you can sit in the rocks and watch even closer."

"Our second trip here in 3 years. I so wish we could come every year. This cottage is THE best. It was like coming home again. My family which includes daughters aged 20 and 9 love it here. There was so much anticipation before we got here. It is magical driving down the driveway and seeing the bay in front of you. The view is breath taking. We weren't even completely unpacked for the week when they were down on the beach clamming. Close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor that we never minded the drive in (maybe 30 minutes). My husband and oldest went deep sea fishing for a half a day. Poked around Bar Harbor several times. Bar Island, shops, restaurants and in Acadia to Sand Beach and up early one morning to see the sunrise on top of Cadillac. Other than when we went to Acadia we generally planned to spend half of the day exploring and the other at the cottage enjoying the property itself and just regrouping as a family playing board games, trying new recipes (cottage is stocked well with spices and pans and such) and relaxing. Laying in bed one morning and listening to a pair of loons calling to each other over the quiet bay was thrilling as well as seeing a deer with her 4 babies in the morning mist visiting us. Exploring Lamoine State Park just a few minutes away is always a request with fishing, beach exploring and a picnic lunch.
The property owners have made us feel more than welcome and we truly cannot wait to get back. My only regret is that we could not stay longer. You could easily spend two weeks here and fill it up with things to do or just be happy at the cottage and do nothing. We cannot wait to get back again."

"The Bass Harbor Retreat is a home with charm and character. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, the kitchen ideal for food preparation and traffic flow, the living room views and seating just right, especially for a quiet read on a rainy day. On sunny days, the views from the back deck show Bass Harbor and Mt Desert Island in full glory from a private vantage. Dog owners will appreciate the large, securely fenced yard and nearby walks at Ships Harbor and Wonderland trails; but the best was Long Pond near Seal Harbor. This spot provided perhaps our favorite dog walk ever. With a wide carriage road winding along the water, we could let our dogs off-leash while we all enjoyed the beauty of the freshwater pond, the pine woods nearby, the meadow surrounding and the trails nearby. Visiting and local dog owners find an ideal place to exercise and engage. A great spot recommended to us by the owner. Thanks so much.
There's so much to do and see on Mt Desert Island, we hope to return soon to explore further."

"The house is nicer than in the pictures, for sure. It's very spacious and comfortable, and has most everything you need. We were a group of five adults, and never felt crowded. I agree with the other reviewer, it's a good balance of rustic character and modern conveniences. The screened in porch is an excellent place to read a book or do a jigsaw puzzle. The lake is beautiful and extremely quiet (it seemed like the other sections of the lake were more populated). We loved hanging out on the dock and swimming out to the swim float. There are a few things that would make it more perfect - a new set of knives and silverware, and a ladder at the end of the dock (there are a lot of rocks, so a bit tricky to get in the water). Yes, it's a bit of a drive down the road to the house, but it's not at all bumpy, so they have done a good job at grading it – no problem at all. It's quite convenient to Blue Hill and other locations - we zipped to the Blue Hill food coop a few times, had lobster rolls at Bagaduce Lunch, and went to the amazing pizza night at Tinder Hearth Bakery. We have rented many lake houses in the area, and this ranks among the best."
