  • A Great Second Honeymoon!

"The house is even lovelier than the pictures. It's clean, beautifully decorated with lots of windows for the beautiful views in every direction. The garden is also tastefully designed and well tended. Grocery and specialty shops are within 5 minutes. We stayed an extra day and still never ran out of things to do. Bar Harbor and main Acadia is just 30 minutes away and a pleasant drive. There are Acadia attractions right in Southwest Harbor about 10 minutes away. The Island Explorer bus service has a stop a block away. Great restaurants (Beals) are within walking distance. It was interesting to watch the fishing boats come in and out of the harbor. The sunsets are viewable from the patio or the dock. Would rate this rental 6 stars if possible."

  • A Man of Few Words

"We stayed for a week in August of 2014. The house was excellent; clean, well kept with all the basics & more to live and cook for a week. But who wants to cook with all that Lobstaah!!!"

  • Best kept secret on Mt. Desert

"This cabin was amazing and perfect for our family of 3. The view, the shoreline, the babbling brook, the seclusion, the creek, the "rustic cabin..where do I begin? We absolutely loved it! We felt like we were back at summer camp only in a nice log cabin with running water, hot water, electricity, comfortable beds. The bedrooms are on the creekside of the house attached to the log cabin side by a breezeway. That made it nice for those that want to sleep in to not be disturbed by the early riser. I hope we can come back again."

  • Amazing Tranquility! Everything you could possibly want from a relaxing and scenic break...

"This is a unique and special getaway location, set back in an untouched part of the world. The property is custom designed by the owner and is meticulously laid out. It boasts panoramic views of the Bagaduce River. This along with the amazing tree lines and forestry give you a complete sense of peace and tranquility. The property is setback on a dirt road through beautiful forestry where you will see natural wildlife. It is completely private, you will not see or hear anyone until you visit the local town! The property has everything you will need and the real fireplace is a very nice effect! The local village, Bluehill, again has everything you will need including great places to eat and an information center (chamber of commerce) to point you in the right direction for what ever excursions you have planned. There is also a blue hill co-op, an amazing wine tasting venue that also sells great cheeses and sausage meats. There is also a local brewery called Strong Brewery which is a very small boutique brewery. Get there early on days they are open as they run out quick! Cadillac mountain is a must visit and has endless trails for hiking all with breathtaking views. Sunsets and sunrises can be appreciated from the top of the mountain. Bar Harbor is a quaint town by the water which is just a lovely place to visit. There is a great store in town which is good for equipment for hiking and outdoor activities. Paddy’s irish pub serves a great breakfast after sunrise, to keep you going for the days activities. Trenton bridge lobster restaurant is located on the road from bluebell to bar harbor and has the best lobster in town. Atlantic brewery is located about 10 miles outside from Bar Harbor and has great tasting beer. The owners are just lovely people and are extremely accommodating and have a great team of staff on hand locally. Bluehill farmers market runs from May through October, however these are mostly local vendors and you can visit these most year round in their stores. There are also local hikes you can do which are challenging and exciting! Harbor vine restaurant has an amazing menu and also brews their own beer. The cottage is also equipped with a lot suggestions of things to do in the area. All in all, this is a place you will fall in love with. The area just has a feeling I cannot describe, you just have to go there to experience it. You will leave behind all the stresses and strains of every day life, be at peace, and enjoy every minute of it!"

Brooklin Travel Tips

Brooklin Vacation Rentals Offer a Relaxing Getaway

Brooklin is a quaint village where visitors come to escape the bustle of every day life. The best Brooklin lodging options are Brooklin vacation rentals. Rentals provide a sort of home away from home feel for vacationers and normally offer an array of amenities to choose from. The Acadia cottages are an excellent choice, especially when you want the privacy and space needed to truly relax during your trip.

Book a Sailing Charter

A popular past time in Brooklin is sailing. The view of Blue Hill Bay and the surrounding landscape is unrivaled during a sailing day trip. Some vacationers choose to bring their own sailboat to store at the Brooklin vacation rentals when they aren't out on the water. Other vacationers prefer to book a sailing charter with a local company such as Brooklin Charters. Make your sailing trip even more enjoyable by bringing along a tasty lunch or supper to enjoy on the water.

Enjoying the Local Cuisine

When staying at the Brooklin vacation rentals, you will likely want to eat most of your meals on your cottage patio. Making your own meals during a vacation is a great way to save money and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones. If you prefer to dine out, there are a few local restaurants such as Morning Moon Café and The Lookout that offer great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Hiking Near Brooklin Lodging

The landscape surrounding Brooklin vacation rentals is breathtaking. One trail that you will want to hike during your stay is the School to the Sea Walking Trail. The trail is 3.5 miles long and worth every step. You can also just wander along the bay surrounding the Acadia cottages for a morning walk or evening stroll.
