  • spacious, bright, super clean, big kitch

"We stayed there for a week. My 3 years-old started to call here 'Home'. We made breakfast & dinner everyday and stayed in Acadia NP for the whole day. When we came back, feel really like 'back home'. great great experience"

  • That view and that beach

"It's actually hard to believe you are sitting on your own private expanse of rocky seawall beach between Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor among the million dollar estates. But you really are. And twice a day it's transformed by tides to what feels like two very different and equally exciting shores. In between you can gaze uninterrupted to Bear Island and Sutton Island beyond. Mornings you're pleasantly stirred by lobster boats and days can be filled by watching the many types of boats go by. The property is just as described, but the view and setting is even more impressive than shown. The location is ideally away from the noise and crowds of Bar Harbor but a stones throw from the lovely sand beach in Seal Harbor. Seemed like everything on the island was 20 minutes away from the property. Found it to be a great retreat from the more touristy parts of MDI but convenient to all the necessities of a week away. There are a few minor things to know when you consider this property, though. The house is 50 or so feet from Route 3 which means you hear every passing car / truck. This isn't a terrible distraction, but you do notice it. There is a fold-away couch in the den (which has a full bath next to it) if you would like 3 truly private bedrooms. The loft is above the master and does not have it's own bath like the other bedrooms. While occupants of the loft and master can't see each other because of a high railing, you can certainly hear everything. Perhaps this arrangement is perfect for members of the same family (kids upstairs and parents down)? And did I mention the private beach and the view..."

Brooklin Travel Tips

Brooklin Vacation Rentals Offer a Relaxing Getaway

Brooklin is a quaint village where visitors come to escape the bustle of every day life. The best Brooklin lodging options are Brooklin vacation rentals. Rentals provide a sort of home away from home feel for vacationers and normally offer an array of amenities to choose from. The Acadia cottages are an excellent choice, especially when you want the privacy and space needed to truly relax during your trip.

Book a Sailing Charter

A popular past time in Brooklin is sailing. The view of Blue Hill Bay and the surrounding landscape is unrivaled during a sailing day trip. Some vacationers choose to bring their own sailboat to store at the Brooklin vacation rentals when they aren't out on the water. Other vacationers prefer to book a sailing charter with a local company such as Brooklin Charters. Make your sailing trip even more enjoyable by bringing along a tasty lunch or supper to enjoy on the water.

Enjoying the Local Cuisine

When staying at the Brooklin vacation rentals, you will likely want to eat most of your meals on your cottage patio. Making your own meals during a vacation is a great way to save money and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones. If you prefer to dine out, there are a few local restaurants such as Morning Moon Café and The Lookout that offer great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Hiking Near Brooklin Lodging

The landscape surrounding Brooklin vacation rentals is breathtaking. One trail that you will want to hike during your stay is the School to the Sea Walking Trail. The trail is 3.5 miles long and worth every step. You can also just wander along the bay surrounding the Acadia cottages for a morning walk or evening stroll.
