  • Beautiful and Relaxing

"The house was clean, beautiful, and well equiped for a large family. Our party consisted of 5 adults, a 4 yr old and almost 2 year old. There was plenty of room for all. The dinning table was different then the one pictured, which was great. The current table has 2 leaves in the closet between the downstairs bedrooms, providing plenty of space for everyone in one sitting. We created great memories around that table. Including my son's first lobster bake (with the large lobster pot provided). My sister-in-law was surprised to learn cooking your own lobster surpasses any lobster in a restaurant. Initially, I was concerned regarding the stairs which are not exactly 2 yr old friendly. However, he did great with supervision. The stairs were easily placed off limits by closing doors. They never became an issue. The lot is beautiful and quiet. Bring a telescope because the star gazing is amazing due to low light pollution. We enjoyed Lamoine State Park. Great scenery, playground and barbAque (great place for kite flying). The best part was packing up the car for long days in breath taking Acadia. We didn't get to see everything so we will be returning! The owner, Ray, is very kind. He can be easily contacted with any questions or concerns. I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay as the Lamoine Farm House and look forward to returning!"

  • Slice of Heaven

"Having never rented from VRBO, we didn't know what to expect. This little gem far exceeded all expectations! The cottage was charming, immaculate, and well maintained. Dee has thought of everything, from a well stocked kitchen, complete with coffee and hot chocolate, loads of towels, comfy beds, and a kayak. The view from the deck can't be beat! The most relaxing vacation we have had in years. I have already shared the link with friends. Can't wait to return!"

  • Wonderful vacation spot!

"We just returned from spending a week at this lovely home. It was our first time to Acadia and we absolutely loved it! We have 3 children, ages 12, 10 and 6. It was a perfect vacation spot as we could hike and bike as little or as much as we wanted. There were plenty of "easy" spots we could tackle as we had our 6 year old to consider. The home is equipped with anything we needed and so clean! We loved relaxing at the home when we weren't out hiking, biking or shopping. We actually enjoyed a day of rain we had so we could do a 1000 piece puzzle provided at the house. The house lends itself to relaxing. One of my favorite moments was sitting down by the water reading a book while the children collected sea shells and played soccer in the yard. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. He even provided a list of recommended places to eat, shop and hike. Everything we tried from the list was top notch and the recommendations were appreciated! The only bad thing about our stay was the mosquitoes. They were very bad after dusk. I called it the Mosquito Apocalypse!! Make sure to take long pants/shirts and spray. I would recommend visiting this area and staying in this home in particular. We had such a wonderful family vacation and made memories we will treasure forever!!"

  • Wonderful Week at Orchard House

"Staying at Orchard House was really a pleasure. The house has a clean, modern interior and was well-provisioned with lots of room to spread out and a great kitchen for cooking and entertaining. We have a young child and appreciated having a child’s room right off of the upstairs master. The friendly owners were very helpful, providing a great book of local recommendations and posting small signs throughout the house which clarified how things worked. Orchard House is in a peaceful wooded setting - no ocean view, but near a large lake (Walker Pond) that has boating, a small beach, and a children's day camp nearby. The location of the house was a perfect starting-off point for many adventures in Blue Hill, Brooksville, Deer Isle, and even Acadia National Park. We highly recommend this property for a wonderful week in Maine!"

Brooklin Travel Tips

Brooklin Vacation Rentals Offer a Relaxing Getaway

Brooklin is a quaint village where visitors come to escape the bustle of every day life. The best Brooklin lodging options are Brooklin vacation rentals. Rentals provide a sort of home away from home feel for vacationers and normally offer an array of amenities to choose from. The Acadia cottages are an excellent choice, especially when you want the privacy and space needed to truly relax during your trip.

Book a Sailing Charter

A popular past time in Brooklin is sailing. The view of Blue Hill Bay and the surrounding landscape is unrivaled during a sailing day trip. Some vacationers choose to bring their own sailboat to store at the Brooklin vacation rentals when they aren't out on the water. Other vacationers prefer to book a sailing charter with a local company such as Brooklin Charters. Make your sailing trip even more enjoyable by bringing along a tasty lunch or supper to enjoy on the water.

Enjoying the Local Cuisine

When staying at the Brooklin vacation rentals, you will likely want to eat most of your meals on your cottage patio. Making your own meals during a vacation is a great way to save money and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones. If you prefer to dine out, there are a few local restaurants such as Morning Moon Café and The Lookout that offer great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Hiking Near Brooklin Lodging

The landscape surrounding Brooklin vacation rentals is breathtaking. One trail that you will want to hike during your stay is the School to the Sea Walking Trail. The trail is 3.5 miles long and worth every step. You can also just wander along the bay surrounding the Acadia cottages for a morning walk or evening stroll.
