"A clean and cozy cottage with with an amazing view across the waters of Frenchman's Bay to the mountains of Acadia -- and the cruise ships visiting Bar Harbor! We loved the place, despite the fact that certain aspects have gone beyond shabby/chic to just plain shabby. This mid-century cottage needs some sprucing up, not to make it chic or luxurious, but keep it reasonably attractive and in good working order. I think the people who would rent this place would be, like us, interested in savoring the beauties of the place, and would not be using the cottage merely as a place to sleep. It's distance from the noise and crowds is one of its chief features, and so a little more attention to the upkeep of the cottage would guarantee that folks like us would rave about the place and we would make a point of returning.
I checked the box to recommend this cottage for those over 55 but should include the caveat that the lawn is treacherously uneven and that there's quite a drop from the first stair to the lawn. This comes as a surprise especially when one is going out. Otherwise the one-floor layout is ideal."

"My goal in renting this lovely farmhouse was to create lasting memories for my husband, myself and family especially my six grandgirls. Corea is a "piece of heaven" and a secret that I would selfishly like to keep to myself but it must be shared. The farmhouse met every need and overlooking Corea harbor every morning brought a whole new meaning to a cup of coffee. Stephanie and Joe were extremely helpful in planning this rental and are not very far away if needed. When they remodeled the house they were so thoughtful in preserving the history of the house by displaying old pictures and materials found in the walls. My girls still talk about going to the island on the causeway collecting sandollars while knee high in salt water or going to the big Corea beach down the road. I think they are still combing seaweed out of their hair! This property lets you experience "the real Maine". My mission was accomplished."

"If you are searching for a spectacular and comfortable home with an EXCEPTIONAL view, search no further because you have found it! As the previous reviewer stated, the pictures of this "beautiful, upscale home can't capture the delight of being there" is spot on. This beautiful home has everything you are looking for: a beautiful view that overlooks Southwest Harbor; a gorgeous backyard, deck and screened in porch; a tastefully decorated interior first floor with a gorgeous, fully equipped modern kitchen, hardwood floors and a master bedroom that offers a comfortable bed, wonderful master bath and French doors to the screened in porch. (Just a small bit of advice, check the dryer downstairs if you don't find many dish and bathroom towels. We thought we would have to go and buy some towels but not the case. Housekeeping must have forgotten about the last load of laundry.) It was so tranquil to watch the lobster boats in the morning from bed. It truly doesn't get any better than that. The upstairs is just as beautiful with two large bedrooms and is carpeted. We absolutely loved spending time out on the deck that offered comfortable outdoor furniture and a large heating lamp. Nothing better than enjoying our breakfast and in the evening, appetizers and wine, listening to the water lap over the rocks to the shore. Whatever you are hoping for in a rental home, this home accommodates. Because we were in Acadia at the beginning of Sept, there was a full moon, and the view was amazing! We also had the pleasure of having a nightly evening walkthrough by a Mama deer and her baby and were thrilled when a bald eagle perched right on the backyard rocks to have its morning breakfast! As mentioned, this home is in Southwest Harbor but it was not a far ride to Bar Harbor or the Park. Actually, it gives you an opportunity to see more of the island by having to drive to key viewing spots at the Park. Also, because we visited Acadia in early September, Bar Harbor was not overly crowded, which was great. There is so much to do and see that we will go back to Acadia. The weather was perfect and the house as the review title states, "Simply Perfection"."

"We headed north from Boston after a crazy holiday season and stayed at this lovely farmhouse cottage on Deer Isle. We didn't know what to expect off season, but as we drove over the DI Bridge, and then over the very picturesque causeway that leads to the island, we were already charmed. The farm house exceeded our expectations; well appointed, tasteful and full of country charm. The surrounding pastures and next door conservation lands were beautiful. From the cottage, the winter views of the ocean were spectacular. We cozied up to the wood stove read books and made our favorite meals in the well stocked kitchen. Though the weather was nippy, each day we headed out on a Nature Heritage Trust walk through the woods, or along the ocean front. Beautiful views everywhere. We celebrated New Year Eve at a wonderful restaurant - the Arbor View Inn. This is reported to be one of the best restaurants in the entire state of Maine, and we'd heartily agree. If you want a true Down East experiences this family cottage is the perfect place to spend a week - or maybe two or three?"
