Beautiful views, awesome property, nice owners and caretaker
"We loved this place. The house is old and charming, a typical Cape farmhouse on a beautiful lot overlooking the Northern Bay. The owners checked in on us to make sure everything was ok and their Down East native caretaker stopped in a couple of times to say hi. Lovely old barn, meadow, and creek with lots of wildlife to photograph (even Eagles and Bobolinks aka skunk birds!). Great centralized location for exploring Castine, Bucksport, Bar Harbor (Bah Hahbah). We'd like to rent again some day in the future. :) Recommend seeing Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory nearby and the snack bar just down the road."

"Beautiful house with plenty of room. Kitchen was well stocked and the house was clean. Short walk to the harbor and Seafood Ketch restaurant (awesome place to catch the sunset). In a quiet area of the island but close to points of interest. We enjoy time on the porch and the gas fireplace. I would highly recommend this house."

"We are a family of 4 (kids of 7 and 10) and our dog Isla. Choosing the right accommodation for our first trip to Bar Harbor was extremely important since we wanted a mix of true Acadia National Park experiences with the convenience to living downtown Bar Harbor; this rental was exactly what we hoped it would be. We had easy access to what we wanted to do and see but were also only a short walk away from the bars, restaurants, sights and shopping of downtown Bar Harbor.
The owners were very responsive to our questions and provided all the amenities we needed. As all the other reviews state, this was a simple, clean and functional apartment.
We were loathed to leave Bar Harbor and will certainly come back to this apartment and recommend it to our friends. Thank you from all our family."

"My husband and I just spent a week here with another couple, close friends, and had an awesome time! Beau Se Jour is just lovely, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Enjoying the lovely cool summer weather with the windows open was a real treat. There is some much to do the area with Acadia Natioanl Park offering hikes, biking, carriage tours and we highly recommend getting up very early to watch the sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain, breathtaking! We enjoyed whale watching from Bar Harbor (dress warm if you want to be on the bow of the boat). Also enjoyed the nature cruise from Northwest Harbor. Laura is so helpful and has a lot of information at the house with things to do. We also call the local, kayak guy and he drop off a kayak for a week rental. Terrific, relaxing vacation! Thank you Laura and Robert. Colleen, Scott, Leslie and John"
