"We love staying at Rocko's cottage. It's got everything you need for comfort including air conditioning, comfy beds, cable tv, good size kitchen, etc. It's clean & convenient to downtown but away from the noise. So easy to walk to the village green & use the shuttle service. A lovely park in the other direction. Love staying here. Lisa is available for anything but never intrusive. Highly recommend Rocko's cottage"

"My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at this cottage. It is perfect for two people looking for a home base to virtually anywhere on Mt. Desert Island. The kitchen was very well equipped with anything a traveler may need (the coffee filters were particularly appreciated). We found the patio to be quite lovely in the morning and a nice way to rest weary legs at the end of the day. A few items that are important to note for future visitors. First, the cottage is on Rt. 102, which means there is some car noise from 6:00 am until early evening. Rt. 102 has a limited shoulder and is not suitable for safe running/walking, in my opinion. Second, the bedroom faces east, making it rather bright in the morning even with a shade and blinds. The final point is not related to the cottage though worth noting. Bass Harbor is remotely located relative to the rest of the island. Southwest Harbor is less than 5 minutes away, but Bar Harbor can be as much as 45 minutes with traffic. Overall, a great place for a couple looking to get away from it all and take in the pleasures of the quiet side (be sure to go over to Seawall with a bottle of wine and some cheese, it's totally legal!)."

"We chose this Blue Hill cottage due to proximity to MDI in the hope that it would be close enough to essential needs but maybe off the beaten path. It was all that. The cottage is close to Blue Hill but very very quiet and secluded. THe home itself is charming and everything you need for your stay is there. Kitchen was very well stocked - even a Lobster pot! Our only complaint was the electric heat did not work and it was quite cold overnight. We managed to warm up with a fire in the beautiful fireplace in the evening and as we were out and about during the day, we didn't mind. The location, amenities and condition of the cottage was perfect we would stay again without hesitation."

"We loved this well-maintained house. It was perfect for 2 families made up of 4 parents and six "kids" aged 25, 23, 21, 21, 18, and 15! The dining room table was long enough to fit all 10 of us for meals and the kitchen was large enough to handle multiple cooks. The house was well stocked with any dishes or pans we needed and had every spice we wanted. The linens were great and the linen room had more towels than we could ever need. The street was quiet while being just a few blocks from the town shops and restaurants. Parking was very limited (about 1.5 cars could fit) but we had no trouble finding parking in the same block. We want to come back!!!"
