"This cabin really feels like a home-- with the kitchen ready for cooking. The setting is superb-- a quiet bay. Maybe out favorite place to stay. Close to everything, yet set away from the world. we had a great time.
Be sure to ask for the directions again if she doesn't send them."

"What a great property. Furnished with just about everything you could possibly need for your stay, comfortable, pretty location on the creek, and ideal for exploring this beautiful part of the country. I would definitely recommend it to couples or families. When you finally have enough of the lobster rolls then Vazquez Mexican take-out in nearby Milbridge is a great choice, or if you want to splurge then try Salt Box in Hancock. We really could not have enjoyed our stay more."

"This was our first visit to Maine. We were thrilled with the amazing view of the water and easy access for kayaking! (We were right across from several islands to explore) We spent most nights outside enjoying the view on the very cozy outdoor furniture next to the fire. The kitchen was well equipped with anything and everything you would need. High end cookwear and knife set! (We are from New Orleans so we like a good kitchen to cook in). The owner was easy to reach when we had a minor issue. The barn at Mainstay was fabulous."

"We enjoyed a superb week at this home. Our group was a family reunion with 10 adults and 4 children, and we fit pretty well, although some of the kids slept on the floor in sleeping bags and in a travel crib.
The location is quiet and private, a mile from a sleepy fishing village and right on the water. The views are unmatched and the house is set up to showcase the views with a huge wraparound porch, 2nd floor porch off of the master suite, and lots of comfortable deck furniture. We rented kayaks from Acadia 1 Kayaks (also highly recommend!), which delivered to the house, and spent most mornings paddling up and down the harbor. We saw seals, bald eagles, and a variety of waterfowl. There are a few neighbors down the road, but we only saw them from our kayaks as we were paddling back to the house. Although 30 minutes from Ellsworth and 60 minutes from Bar Harbor, the house is very close to Schoodic Point, Winter Harbor, and Prospect Harbor, which are worth exploring and offer much beyond the overdeveloped side of Acadia.
The kitchen is well equipped with many items I didn't expect to find including a spice cabinet and muffin tins. There is a large easy to use gas grill on the back porch.
The master suite is expansive and has unbelievable views of Prospect harbor. The two downstairs bedrooms with queen beds are spacious with private baths. The other two downstairs bedrooms (bunk bed and twin rooms) are quite small, but adequately furnished.
The bathrooms are all up to date and comfortable. There is no bath tub (only showers).
The sauna is great, we got it up to 200 degrees and used it most evenings.
The two living rooms are adequate. The sofas and chairs are not super comfy as mentioned in prior reviews, but to be honest this was one of the few minuses, and didn't factor much into our stay, as we spent most of the daytime outside hiking and boating."
