"In early July 2015 we spent a week at Patten Bay Chalet. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. We were 8 in our party, had plenty of room for everyone to find a cozy nook, to either read, watch TV or play games. The bedrooms were of good size, beds were comfortable and it was delightful to sleep with open windows. Linens and blankets were plentiful and of good quality. 3 Bathrooms a luxury, ample supply of towels and necessities. We found the kitchen furnished with top notch appliances, flat and stemware, dishes were plentiful and of nice quality. Mac and Deb were perfect hosts, left us with all sorts of brochures of things to do , as well as a nice sampling of goodies from the area. We enjoyed our stay so much that we plan to come again. The private beach down the road, as well as the huge wraparound porch was special, just ever so nice to enjoy your morning coffee, take in the scenery or sip a glass of wine in the evening and watch the setting sun. Thank you, Charlotte & Family"

"Everything about this cabin, was perfect! This secluded lake-front place of beauty was exactly what we wanted: the proximity to Acadia Nat'l Park, and the total serenity of staying put after a hike. There's a dock to sit on and gaze at stars, nearby great hiking, a well-stocked kitchen, lobsters and blueberries nearby, and the sounds of loons on the lake. We hope to come back next year and stay longer!"

"The house is nicer than in the pictures, for sure. It's very spacious and comfortable, and has most everything you need. We were a group of five adults, and never felt crowded. I agree with the other reviewer, it's a good balance of rustic character and modern conveniences. The screened in porch is an excellent place to read a book or do a jigsaw puzzle. The lake is beautiful and extremely quiet (it seemed like the other sections of the lake were more populated). We loved hanging out on the dock and swimming out to the swim float. There are a few things that would make it more perfect - a new set of knives and silverware, and a ladder at the end of the dock (there are a lot of rocks, so a bit tricky to get in the water). Yes, it's a bit of a drive down the road to the house, but it's not at all bumpy, so they have done a good job at grading it – no problem at all. It's quite convenient to Blue Hill and other locations - we zipped to the Blue Hill food coop a few times, had lobster rolls at Bagaduce Lunch, and went to the amazing pizza night at Tinder Hearth Bakery. We have rented many lake houses in the area, and this ranks among the best."

"My wife and I spent a week with two other couples. The house is spacious with plenty of privacy, with common areas nice and open. The new bathroom gives everyone access to their own (except for showering.) Plenty of deck space and lawn in the back, and access to the bay is great.
We biked, hiked, and kayak during our stay, and the house is close enough to Bar Harbor and NP, but far enough away to be away from the tourist hustle and bustle. While kayaking from the house we saw seals, a heron, an eagle, and an osprey (while catching fish!)
The house has a well-stocked kitchen, and is spotless. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer."
