  • Perfect in every way

"My husband, 6 year old daughter and I had the opportunity to spend a relaxing week here in late July. It was a beautiful week in a gorgeous spot. I was concerned that the cabin is on a pond, however after doing a little searching online, I realized that this is a 740 acre pond! We saw a few people out enjoying the water, but overall it was very peaceful. The cabin is exactly as you see it, there were no surprises, it was clean, well organized, and Cindy is an absolute pleasure to work with. All questions prior to arrival were answered, and she greeted us on the day we arrived to give us a tour of the property and make sure we had everything we needed. We spent time in Acadia biking, hiking, and relaxing at Sand Beach. We did venture into Bar Harbor but quickly realized that was to crowded for us, we were anxious to get back to our peaceful home and listen to the loons on the lake, and visit the fish my daughter named "Roxy". There are a lot of antique stores along the way, and Ellsworth/Bucksport are both a short drive away with nice family restaurant. We recommend Finns Irish Public House, Union River Lobster House, and Mainly Meat all in Ellsworth. We are looking forward to coming back again, and exploring more of the area!"

  • Lake and National Park vacation combined

"We (2 parents & 2 daughters in their early 20's) had a fantastic time staying at this home for a week to combine a lake vacation of kayaking/canoeing/blueberry picking with daily trips to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor (about 55 minute drive). Green Lake is wonderfully VERY quiet. House is right on the lake with a dock and 12 private wooded acres. You don't hear or see anyone else. Kitchen and bathrooms were very well equipped and supplied and house has TV/DVD. Borderline cellphone/internet access (worked in certain areas in & around house) due to isolated vacation area. Boat rental company on the lake a few miles away delivered rented kayaks & canoe for the week. Nearest town, Ellsworth, about 20 minutes drive, is on the way to Bar Harbor, so we passed through it each day and could stop for supplies and once or twice stopped there for pleasant restaurants. (Of course, Bar Harbor has MANY restaurants/shops, and we would often have dinner on the way home from a day at Acadia). For larger groups, owner might want to consider a larger water heater. The house works well and the owner was very personable and accommodating. -A very enjoyable vacation, with most days busy at Acadia/Bar Harbor and restful time on/at the lake in mornings or evenings and one or two days."

  • Paradise!

"The house was as described..actually no. Much better! Clean, peaceful, beautiful settings and everything provided to make your stay easy and comfortable. We couldn't wait to sit out on the dock early morning and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. We swam all the way to the nearest beach sometimes. The water is clear, fresh and clean. Just wonderful. We were there to explore Acadia NP, but ended up wanting to spent more time at the house and our "own private " lake. It's an easy 40 minute drive to Acadia, 20 minutes to supermarkets etc. Unfortunately our stay was cut short, but we will definitely return. I can't thank Candice and her husband enough for their help, kindness and thoughtfulness. Thank you!"

"My first trip to Maine and I will definitely be going back . what a great place for a get away. The house has drop dead gorgeous views of the water, a deck you can sit on and enjoy the views with a cup of coffee at sunrise or glass of wine at sunset. Loved being so close to the water it was easy access for my kayak I will definitely rent again"
