  • Everything we hoped for and more!

"My family had never visited Maine before but it was definitely on our bucket list. This year we decided to finally go. We are glad we did. Our first order of business was to find a place to stay and we chose this property. It was everything we had hoped for and everything the owners had adverstised. The home was spacious enough for our family of 7 adults and we actually could have comfortably had more people there due to the open floor plan. The home was super clean, well stocked with all the amenities needed. We loved the fact that it was far enough from downtown to enjoy the peace and quiet of the wooded lot, yet close enough to be in downtown Bar Harbor within 10 minutes. The owners were very responsive and extremely helpful in making our vacation a memorable one. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely return."

  • Perfect Place

"Beautiful house and grounds with an incredible view! The house worked well for our two families. The location was ideal for us as we ventured into Bar Harbor and Acadia often. One of our favorite modern updates in the house - the countertops in the main level kitchen. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with."

  • Perfect little cottage!

"My husband and I were celebrating our 32nd anniversary and booked the delightful "Safe Harbor" cottage. We couldn't have been more pleased. It's beautifully decorated, very clean and nicely appointed, and the view of picturesque Southwest Harbor is wonderful. We spent a lot of time in those adirondack chairs in the pictures just watching the comings and goings of the lobster boats and sailboats…it never got old! The location is also very convenient to the shops and restaurants of the village of Southwest Harbor. It is very close to the road, but since this is "The Quiet Side" of Mt. Desert, it was never a problem for us. Christie, the owner was very nice and accommodating…the internet wasn't working when we got there so we called her. She had it fixed the next morning. We would love to go back again soon!"

  • A Great Northeast Harbor Cottage/c

"Our family likes to visit Acadia National Park to renew and refresh. We enjoy the scenic paths, the Jordan Pond nature trail or Mr. Rockefeller's Carriage Roads with meticulous stonework bridges and vistas of glacial lakes and the Atlantic shore line. We visit in July or August and enjoy perfect Maine summer days. There are opportunities for hiking, biking and kayaking while taking in the best in natural and manmade beauty. Close by is Thuya Gardens whose borders in August are in full bloom. Vacation days are filled with experiences that make you want to pull up your stakes and move to Maine! We are fortunate to have found this Northeast Harbor cottage to return to after our days of outdoor activities. Loon Crossing is a solidly constructed home, cheerful, with brightly painted rooms located within walking distance to Northeast Harbor's main street. It is a short distance to Brown Mountain Gatehouse for carriage road access. Within walking distance, there is a small local market for a few groceries and a bottle of wine or a local restaurant for a lobster roll. The big shop, however is best accomplished in Bar Harbor. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The property is clean, organized and well supplied. I am grateful for the hospitality the owners have extended to us and would highly recommend this Northeast Harbor cottage."
