  • Beautiful and Relaxing

"The house was clean, beautiful, and well equiped for a large family. Our party consisted of 5 adults, a 4 yr old and almost 2 year old. There was plenty of room for all. The dinning table was different then the one pictured, which was great. The current table has 2 leaves in the closet between the downstairs bedrooms, providing plenty of space for everyone in one sitting. We created great memories around that table. Including my son's first lobster bake (with the large lobster pot provided). My sister-in-law was surprised to learn cooking your own lobster surpasses any lobster in a restaurant. Initially, I was concerned regarding the stairs which are not exactly 2 yr old friendly. However, he did great with supervision. The stairs were easily placed off limits by closing doors. They never became an issue. The lot is beautiful and quiet. Bring a telescope because the star gazing is amazing due to low light pollution. We enjoyed Lamoine State Park. Great scenery, playground and barbAque (great place for kite flying). The best part was packing up the car for long days in breath taking Acadia. We didn't get to see everything so we will be returning! The owner, Ray, is very kind. He can be easily contacted with any questions or concerns. I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay as the Lamoine Farm House and look forward to returning!"

  • Paradise Lake Phillips

"Me and my family stood at Lake Phillips for two weeks in this wonderful, totally renewed Cottage. The location of the cottage could not be better: It is just a few steps away from the water! It has a boat landing and also a float in the water, not too far away from the landing, so even children can reach it easily. The owners are fantastic and available for any question. They provide cayaks to discover the lake by boat and the house is fully equipped with everything you need to have relaxed holidays. We came over from Germany with our children and had an unforgettable trip!"

  • Slice of Heaven

"Having never rented from VRBO, we didn't know what to expect. This little gem far exceeded all expectations! The cottage was charming, immaculate, and well maintained. Dee has thought of everything, from a well stocked kitchen, complete with coffee and hot chocolate, loads of towels, comfy beds, and a kayak. The view from the deck can't be beat! The most relaxing vacation we have had in years. I have already shared the link with friends. Can't wait to return!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Home, Perfect Location

"We have rented homes thru VRBO for several years and must say this is one of our favorites. It's exactly what you would want in a Maine vacation cottage. The cottage itself is cozy, relaxing, cool even during 90 degree days, exceptionally clean, and everything you would want is there. Then there's the glorious view. We woke up to invigorating sunrises while drinking tea on the deck, and went to bed following incredible sunsets. The lane is quiet, and very little traffic on the water. Most mornings the water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for early morning kayaking. We kayaked, hiked in Acadia, and went on early morning walks around Sorrento. Walk past the Post Office at the end of the lane, down to the water, then up the road along the water and you will see fabulous homes, cottages, water views, beach glass, and even a terrific jewelry gallery, Beach Worn Jewelry, along the way. We felt like we were on our own little quiet island. The cottage is truly in a wonderful off-the-beaten-path location. We went to almost every destination recommended by the owners, they've done a great job making you feel at home inside and while on the go. Our favorites include: Jordan Pond House in Acadia, that's a do not miss destination for lunch or dinner. Tracey's, Rt. 1 Sullivan, just up the road, for terrific seafood and steamed lobsters, to go or eat in, very casual. The over abundance of lobsters meant that our lobsters at Tracey's were only $2.99/lb.! As you go thru Ellsworth, stop at Hannafords for your groceries, LL Bean Outlet for fun, then Jordan's Snack Bar to pick up the best fried clams and chowder we've ever had. Their GIfford's ice cream cannot be beat! There is always a long line of people every time you pass by Jordan's, for good reason. Eating dinner on the deck with take out from Tracey's or Jordan's far surpassed any meals we had at restaurants. We had one day of rainy weather and spent the day in local galleries like Spring Woods Gallery where Paul and Ann Breeden have done a remarkable job with their Willowbrook Garden. The gallery, built by Paul, is breathtaking (check out the carved trim as you walk in), as well as his art. Several Farmers Markets in the surrounding areas help give you the real Maine experience with fresh blueberries, veggies, and homemade pies. We chose Maine to experience Acadia NP, and we left Maine with so much more. Our sincere thanks to the owners for helping make our vacation so memorable."
