  • Even better than home away from home

"This house is so well located that I can't think of a way to improve it, except perhaps to move it slightly closer to Acadia. We loved coming home to our comfy home every night and finding everything so comfortable and inviting. Everything was perfect for our time there and we can't think of a thing we'd do differently."

  • Karen's Cottage

"This cottage is just like home - because it IS a home. So comfortable, roomy and excellently arranged. Two great recliners in the living room, kitchen has washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and full sized refrigerator. The beds are comfortable and the quiet makes is easy to sleep at night. A spacious deck with patio furniture and a gas grill makes sitting outside a joy. A 55" TV in the living room and a 36" TV in the master bedroom make it a great place to vacation. Wi-Fi and Internet keeps you connected to the outside world, if that's what you want. I would recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone!!"

  • Maryland

"My husband and I stayed at the beautifully furnished cottage in Winter Harbor, Maine during our recent trip to Acadia. We chose to stay in Winter Harbor because it was away from the tourist traffic in Bar Harbor. You can take the ferry to Bar Harbor or take a drive there if you like to see the other sights. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and even has a pot to cook your lobsters in. The Winter Harbor Lobster Co-op is just down the street, where you can purchase fresh whole lobster or just the meat during the week. The cottage had the most comfortable bed, and was complete with a fluffy down comforter. There were little vases of flowers from the garden left by the bedside and on the table where we ate our meals. During the summer months there is a farmers market in town once a week, where you can purchase Maine blueberries, fresh vegetables, homemade bread, and other Maine products from the area. There is also an IGA, postoffice, art galleries, and library in town for your other needs. During our stay there was a celebration of the arts going on in town. We attended a gallery opening, and we also got to go to the final presentation of the summer's art program. It was a lovely local performance where we saw a steel drum band perform, and got to view all the art created during the summer programs. My husband and I will be returning to Winter Harbor, next time we plan on doing some kayaking. We loved our stay at the cottage in Winter Harbor."

  • Time to Breathe

"I have been coming to Keyhole Cottage for many years; the last time three years ago with my wife, who died less than a year later. This was the first year I've been back since then. Keyhole Cottage is a place to take time to breathe; to sit and listen and watch without the interruption of television; though there is wifi and so you can always check the news if you really want to. Since you are in the midst of Acadia National Park you are close to all the attractions that that wonderful place has to offer: hiking, bicycling etc. You can see the sunrise from Cadillac Mt, or you can walk a hundred yards to your own beach and to do the same. The accomodations are more than adequate and the cottage has a nice deck with the keyhole view of the water.A great place to be."
