"My husband, daughter and future son-in-law had a fantastic 1st trip to MDI and staying at the chalet made it a perfect vacation. We spent a week and enjoyed all the different activities in the area and the park loop road. In the morning we enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking coffee and planning our day. At night we relaxed after our busy day with a cocktail, cards and lounging around. Comfy couch and two easy chairs worked out great. Nice open area with large table for eating and nice kitchen with all the appliances that you would want or need. Loved the bedrooms upstairs, especially ours which looked out at the water! Very private, clean and comfortable! With lots of windows to make it nice and bright! Can't wait to go back."

"As we live in the UK firstly we would like to say how accommodating Shelley was in sorting out the payment and deposit for us. Initially we were only going to book a week but we decided to stay at Ebb Tide for 10 days and so glad we did. The house was perfect with ever changing tides, wonderful views over Bass harbour and was surrounded by flowers and shrubs. We are both keen photographers so several evenings we were able to set up our cameras in the garden to catch the sunsets and stars with I have to say very few mosquitoes. The house itself was very clean, well equipped with a very comfortable bed, superb views and except for the occasional early lobster boat was very quiet and peaceful. The house is well situated for the sights of Acadia National Park, where we spent most of our holiday, and of course those wonderful sweet lobsters. We enjoyed our chats with Rudy the golden retriever and Shelley, in particular those on vegetables. Our hosts were available but totally unobtrusive. We hope to return someday to capture not only the summer colours but also the autumn ones."

"We are enjoying our stay in this comfortable cottage. The view is great. Bass Harbor is quiet and low key and still allows you easy access to Acadia National Park, good restaurants and shopping. We appreciated the opportunity to stay in this well maintained cottage with our well traveled little dog. Enjoyed all the conveniences provided, the private parking and the wonderful deck."

"We arrived on Sunday evening and could not have been more excited about our drive to Bass Harbor. Our vacation rental was located in a large historic home owned by Barb and Bill Evans. The house was constructed in the mid 1800's. The home is been sectioned off converting the back half into its own private living quarters. This charming rental has a very large kitchen, two bedrooms, two baths, living and laundry room. The rental is complete with wifi and cable tv. The best asset of the home are the owners Barb and Bill Evans. Barb and Bill have been living at their summer home for the past 27 years. They have a wealth of knowledge about the local establishments and historic parts of Mt. Desert Island and Acadia. Fresh lobsters can be purchased across the street, and if you need help, Bill graciously volunteers his time to show you how to prepare them. Bass Harbor is a beautiful, picturesque harbor town. As you look out across the bay you see what you have always imagined....lobster boats, lobster buoys, sailboats, and boat docks. The village homes are complimented by landscaping arrangements full of a vast variety of delightful wild flowers. Across the harbor you can see the town of Bernard nestled on a hill displaying it's own small town charm. The best thing about Bass Harbor is that it is removed from all of the hustle and bustle found in the other harbor town communities on Mt. Desert Island. It is so much more relaxing than having to deal with the traffic and commercialism found in the nearby towns. After you have had a day out touring Acadia National Park, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor you can come back to Barb and Bill Evan's rental for a relaxing evening, take a walk around the bay, or eat at the Seafood Katch. I would not stay anywhere else....hoping to return for another great vacation!"
