Excellent location for visiting Acadia National Park and Mount Desert
"I stayed at the Corson Cottage in mid August and found the place to be a great central location for visiting Mount Desert Island and all it has to offer. The cottage was extremely well kept and had everything you would need to stay for the week. I was able to rent for just 3 nights , even though usually weekly, due to an opening. I am very glad I was able to. There are plenty of places to visit/hike all around the cottage. It is just a short drive to the shops/restaurants in Southwest Harbor. It is a short drive to Bar Harbor or Bass Harbor. The apartment has an upper level which has two twin beds. Downstairs had a queen bed which was very comfortable. There is a porch out back where you can sit or grill (just make sure you use bug spray in August). Mary was helpful with information when I asked but did not bother you at all. I would recommend this cottage for any visits to the area, great value."

"We have stayed here each year for the last several years and look forward to returning next year. This bright, light home invites in the outside with its large windows overlooking an island-studded ocean. Views of lobster boats checking their traps and sailboats crossing in front of the beach provide peaceful entertainment for those moments when you return from exploring the island. The house is conveniently located minutes from the restaurants and shopping of Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor, and Northeast Harbor. We highly recommend this home for your Mt Desert stay."

"Pictures represent home well. Owner is easy tp work with, and wants you to enjoy your stay. Great location to see all of MDI, and a straight shot into Ellsworth.
Plenty of parking, house is spotless. Loved the fireplace (wood provided) and pool table. Kitchen was well stocked, included all basics, plus a great BUNN coffeemaker! Nice yard with fire pit and charcoal grill. Great home to share with friends or family!
Two possible concerns
1. 3 of the bedrooms are upstairs, but only one bath - which is IN one of the bedrooms. So the others must use the bath on the first floor.
2. There are multiple steps, 1/2 steps, and double steps throughout the house.
Both of these could be a non-issue depending upon the make up of your group -those who are physically handicapped, or young toddlers could have issues. Otherwise, no concerns.
We would rent this home again, and can easily recommend it to others.
It was a pleasure staying here - thank you for sharing it."

"The web description doesn’t do justice to Grey Rocks! It is a well maintained 1890s mansion with all modern conveniences, in a gorgeous setting, with beautiful flowers in the yard and on the deck. It’s very private, at the end of a long gravel drive, woods on three sides and the rocky beach on the other. The back lawn is great for romping dogs and playing kids, and the full-length back deck is wonderful for picnics and hanging out and looking at the ocean, where you see (and hear) lobster boats going by. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans, the dishwasher and laundry machines work well, and while there are only two showers in the four bathrooms, everything worked. We (ten people, two dogs) loved the house and the location** which made for an idyllic vacation.
** Five minutes walk to Thurston’s Lobster Pound – no parking hassle!"
