"My family and I just returned from an amazing vacation in Maine. The cottage was perfect! It had so many great details (antiques), amazing views, close to everything. It was perfectly laid out with one bedroom (1 king) upstairs and one bedroom downstairs (2 queen). A bathroom on both levels. A beautiful gas fireplace in the living room warmed the cottage on the cool June nights. Only about 15 miles to Acadia and 18 to Bar Harbor. We loved going to the park in the morning and spending our afternoons at the cottage.
My 9 and 11 year old sons dug for mussels every day and we had a huge feast later in the week.
We loved it so much we already booked for next year. Thank you Laura for sharing such a amazing place!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Bass Terre! This house is in a beautiful spot - a private cove with amazing ocean vistas! The grounds are well kept with lots of flowers - a comfortable deck and only one distant neighbor. The house is over 100 years old but in great condition - bathrooms, appliances and cable TV all work just fine. The bedrooms and mattresses are good and with the silence and cool night breezes, we all slept like babies! The living/dining area is spacious and all 5 adults (of varying ages) were very comfortable there. If we get back to Maine and Bass Terre some day, we will definitely take our dogs - there's a huge garage attached to the house that works if they're wet or need to be confined while you're out and about. The owners provided an excellent list of restaurants and activities that we used daily to plan our outings. Acadia National Park is the highlight and we spent several days exploring different parts of the park - including the top of Cadillac Mountain, Loop Drive along the rocky shore, the popovers at Jordan Pond and several hikes around lakes. We found Bar Harbor to be a crowded tourist trap so we wandered through some of the smaller fishing village shops and restaurants. Southwest Harbor, Somesville and Northeast Harbor are all charming villages. We highly recommend seeing Asticou Gardens! But most of all, we enjoyed returning to Bass Terre in the evening and watching the sun set."

"We have stayed here several times and it has become our favorite vacation place. It's so easy to do so many different things from the house - hiking/biking the carriage roads, kayaking, road biking, hitting the beach, a day in town, etc. You can walk or bike right into the park! House is clean, comfortable, has everything we need. Nice hang on the back patio.Hosts are very helpful and easy to communicate with, super nice folks. And all at a bargain price!"

"My husband & I just returned from Seawall yesterday. We had a fantastic vacation & seawall cottage & the entire property were gorgeous & pristine. We enjoyed lobster twice at Beal's lobster pound on Clark point road, took a ride to Schoodic point, about a 45 minute ride, but so worth it once there.Trips into Bar Harbor & the park were so easy & convenient to get to. But every afternoon we looked forward to returning to seawall. The only noise we heard all week were birds & the sound of the ocean. Words cannot describe the beauty of this property & the way it is maintained. There is also a lot of wildlife on the property, momma duck displayed her 11 little ducklings on the gorgeous pond on the property, we saw deer, (passing by) many types of warblers , a bald eagle & a seal bobbing in the waves. The entire property lends itself to peacefulness, quieting your mind & just relaxing & enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds you. I would not hesitate to recommend renting this comfortable & fully stocked home.Grant was a pleasure to work with & we feel so blessed that he & his wife share this slice of heaven on earth!"
