"When I say that this was a dream cabin, I mean it. I road trip alone, so was looking for something practical and comfortable, yet secluded and scenic. This cabin went above and beyond.
The beds were comfortable, and everything in the kitchen worked perfectly. Having a washer and dryer was awesome...I used it a few times when I got dirty on hikes.
It's about 100 steps from the water, and having a private beach is absolutely incredible. I ended each night by having a beer on the dock. It was perfect. Also, you're on the "quiet side" of the island, which is really nice, as Bar Harbor can get NUTS during the weekends and summer months.
Ben was incredibly helpful and got back to me quickly. The price can't be beat.
I would HIGHLY recommend getting this cabin. When I come back to Maine, I can't imagine staying anywhere else."

"Acadia has always been one of my favorite places, so it was a treat to bring my family for their first visit. Northeast Harbor has just the right balance of quietness, quaintness, friendliness, and ease of living after spending days exploring and hiking. The park and the other side of the island were both easily accessible. Town is just a couple of blocks away with everything you need, including a couple of places with great food and baked goods. The larger grocery store in Bar Harbor is only 15 minutes away. This brightly colored, comfortable and well-equipped cottage was the perfect place to call home. We loved the timber framing, the large kitchen, the spacious rooms, and especially the covered porch & outdoor eating area where we could linger over breakfast and morning coffee. The owners, who were onsite, were extremely hospitable and helpful with anything we needed, including recommendations for places a little off the beaten path. Many thanks to the owners for making our visit to Acadia such a special one with their hospitality and friendship. We hope to be back for a longer visit next time!"

"I have fallen in love with our National Parks and enlisted three long-time friends to tackle Acadia with me. We hunted high and low for the perfect lodging on MDI and surely found it at Summerside Cottage. Location is so ideal for all activities--we walked to all our meals (except for Thurston's which is the best lobstah experience on MDI), walked to kayaking and biking rentals and to the Village Green to catch the Island Explorer and all of the park entrances are a short drive away. The cottage is sparkling clean and wonderfully appointed for four or more. Bedding and towels are plentiful and great quality and the kitchen has everything a group will need. We all commented on how comfy all the beds are. We met the neighbors one night while sitting on the back deck having a glass of wine before walking to dinner and felt a part of the neighborhood. Logan and Hong gave us many ideas for restaurants and activities and were immediately responsive to any questions we had. We all would recommend this cottage for a variety of groups and I would love to return one day to Acadia, Bar Harbor and Summerside Cottage!"

"This property gave us everything we needed for 2 wonderful weeks to explore Acadia National Park and beyond. The home is set in a natural wooded setting with views of the bay. The back deck was our favorite place for breakfast, reading, or just looking out at the bay. The kitchen was stocked with every tool we needed. We had deer come thru the yard frequently and saw a bald eagle one afternoon.
Our 2 dogs loved having a yard to run in, and enjoyed exploring the ocean smells.
One thing I will mention is the airport is across the bay, so you do get some air traffic noise. The scenic flights begin early in the morning and it was fun to watch the biplane circle over us. We found this air activity enjoyable.
We are definitely coming back."
