"We needed a quiet, relaxing get away from our busy schedules and city life. Ebb Tide was the perfect and serene vacation rental. The location is perfect for cooking, reading, and viewing the water from the adirondack chairs. The pictures don't do it justice.
We were able to bring our dog, Riley, and the rental was extremely dog friendly. He loved the water!
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything- from Benadryl for my bee sting to suggestions for hiking.
We had the best vacation possible and highly recommend this vacation rental!"

"We arrived on Sunday evening and could not have been more excited about our drive to Bass Harbor. Our vacation rental was located in a large historic home owned by Barb and Bill Evans. The house was constructed in the mid 1800's. The home is been sectioned off converting the back half into its own private living quarters. This charming rental has a very large kitchen, two bedrooms, two baths, living and laundry room. The rental is complete with wifi and cable tv. The best asset of the home are the owners Barb and Bill Evans. Barb and Bill have been living at their summer home for the past 27 years. They have a wealth of knowledge about the local establishments and historic parts of Mt. Desert Island and Acadia. Fresh lobsters can be purchased across the street, and if you need help, Bill graciously volunteers his time to show you how to prepare them. Bass Harbor is a beautiful, picturesque harbor town. As you look out across the bay you see what you have always imagined....lobster boats, lobster buoys, sailboats, and boat docks. The village homes are complimented by landscaping arrangements full of a vast variety of delightful wild flowers. Across the harbor you can see the town of Bernard nestled on a hill displaying it's own small town charm. The best thing about Bass Harbor is that it is removed from all of the hustle and bustle found in the other harbor town communities on Mt. Desert Island. It is so much more relaxing than having to deal with the traffic and commercialism found in the nearby towns. After you have had a day out touring Acadia National Park, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor you can come back to Barb and Bill Evan's rental for a relaxing evening, take a walk around the bay, or eat at the Seafood Katch. I would not stay anywhere else....hoping to return for another great vacation!"

"We were first timers to Maine and Acadia. We had heard from many people we know about the crowds in the park. Initially, we debated changing our plans for vacation because we were trying to escape the hustle and bustle of our everyday life. We are glad we didn't.
The Tern II is an amazing property. We were all taken with the peace and quiet of the property not to mention the beauty of both the house itself and the landscape. The house is rustic and charming with room for everyone to hang out together or find their own space. The views from the windows and deck overlooking the ocean were gorgeous watching the changing tides and the abundant wildlife. Sitting out on the deck at night, I don't remember the last time I had seen so many stars.
We found the house stocked with everything we could possibly need - cooking utensils, towels and extras most rental homes don't include. The location is very convenient to the park and restaurants yet far enough away to be able to escape the crowds.
Overall, there isn't anything negative that I can say about our stay here. It made for a relaxing and memorable family vacation."

"Wonderful location close to Acadia National Park, right on the water. The house is super comfortable and very open and attractive. I especially loved the kitchen, which was clearly stocked by a serious cook, and the deck. Incredible setting and just a great experience overall, would love to go back."
