  • Wonderful respite in Maine

"If you are looking for a quiet home away from the crowds of Bar Harbor and Acadia NP, then check out this lovely location. Very comfortable coastal home nestled among the trees. Beautiful full length deck just off the large glassed living room overlooking an inlet through the trees."

  • Shore Path Estate, Bar Harbor

"It was a beautiful place, close to the town and still far away from it."

  • Sublilme properties, lovely owners and an enormously satisfying experience.

"My family, consisting of three generations, had the extraordinary good fortune of spending ten days occupying High Tide and Ebb Tide. The two houses are situated on a large parcel of wooded land which also has a grassy lawn and flower garden which complement the view of mountains and Somes Sound. Working lobster boats and other watercraft plying the waters were a source of constant interest.. The homes evidence the eye of an artist in the décor and ambience and we could have spent the entire ten days enjoying the properties had it not been for the wealth of nearby activities awaiting our attention. We hiked, kayaked, experienced the local gardens, toured Acadia and enjoyed the communities of Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor in addition to a boat trip to observe puffins and other sea critters. There are resident loons and we all came away with that music in our memories. It was a bonus that a wide array of newspapers, good coffee and gelato, sea-fresh lobster and freshly baked and high quality bread and pies were to be found just a short drive away, in Northeast Harbor.. The owners are a talented and engaging couple who are models of hospitality. I hope the reader of this review will have an opportunity to enjoy this part of the universe in these accommodations. The photos and descriptions cannot begin to capture the magic of this place."

  • Awesome cabin, awesome surroundings! Great for a family!!

"Just completed my third stay at this same location, and words cannot describe how happy I am to have found this place! To start, the location is perfect. Being in Seal Cove, on the western coast of Mount Desert Island, it is far less congested and hectic than the Bar Harbor area. The area is extremely quiet and gives you a great sense of seclusion. The cabin is perched just uphill from Seal Cove, meaning you are just a short walk from the water. This is a tidal cove, so at high tide you can enjoy incredible kayaking (kayaks available from property owners) and at low tide you can walk completely across! My kids (14 and 11) really enjoyed walking through the cove at low tide, as there is a LOT of sea life to find (mussels, clams, crabs, etc). If you enjoy kayaking, or have ever wanted to try it, this location is perfect. The back end of the cove (by the cabin) is wide and shallow and ALWAYS calm. The narrow cove opens up into a bay at the sea, and the views are breathtaking!! As for the cabin itself, it is exactly as the owners describe. It has been kept in immaculate condition. It is not like other rental properties that feel "generic" or "sterile". When you walk into this cabin, it feels like stepping into your own place - like home! It is warm and inviting and incredibly cozy! The tap water in the cabin is better than ANY bottled water you can get. There are endless bookshelves filled with reading material and games for the whole family. Lots and lots of comforters and blankets for those chilly Maine nights. The owners of the cabin live nearby (on the same 6 acre property) and are the nicest people you will ever wish to meet. They are warm and hospitable and kind and welcoming. You could not ask for better hosts!!! In conclusion, I would say that this cabin is ideal for a family with kids. Being so close to Acadia, while staying out of the craziness of Bar Harbor, is great. Keep in mind there is no television and no internet service, which I find to be a huge blessing! If you want to spend some time really reconnecting with your family, you will not find a better place. I could not recommend this cabin more highly than by saying I will NEVER, EVER stay anywhere else on Mount Desert Island!!"
