"If you are searching for a spectacular and comfortable home with an EXCEPTIONAL view, search no further because you have found it! As the previous reviewer stated, the pictures of this "beautiful, upscale home can't capture the delight of being there" is spot on. This beautiful home has everything you are looking for: a beautiful view that overlooks Southwest Harbor; a gorgeous backyard, deck and screened in porch; a tastefully decorated interior first floor with a gorgeous, fully equipped modern kitchen, hardwood floors and a master bedroom that offers a comfortable bed, wonderful master bath and French doors to the screened in porch. (Just a small bit of advice, check the dryer downstairs if you don't find many dish and bathroom towels. We thought we would have to go and buy some towels but not the case. Housekeeping must have forgotten about the last load of laundry.) It was so tranquil to watch the lobster boats in the morning from bed. It truly doesn't get any better than that. The upstairs is just as beautiful with two large bedrooms and is carpeted. We absolutely loved spending time out on the deck that offered comfortable outdoor furniture and a large heating lamp. Nothing better than enjoying our breakfast and in the evening, appetizers and wine, listening to the water lap over the rocks to the shore. Whatever you are hoping for in a rental home, this home accommodates. Because we were in Acadia at the beginning of Sept, there was a full moon, and the view was amazing! We also had the pleasure of having a nightly evening walkthrough by a Mama deer and her baby and were thrilled when a bald eagle perched right on the backyard rocks to have its morning breakfast! As mentioned, this home is in Southwest Harbor but it was not a far ride to Bar Harbor or the Park. Actually, it gives you an opportunity to see more of the island by having to drive to key viewing spots at the Park. Also, because we visited Acadia in early September, Bar Harbor was not overly crowded, which was great. There is so much to do and see that we will go back to Acadia. The weather was perfect and the house as the review title states, "Simply Perfection"."

"This is a beautiful home, close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. Very clean, comfortable, and has everything you could possibly need. Everything was as promised. Great size for two couples travelling together. Amazing views of Frenchmans' Bay from the master bedroom deck."

"This was my first visit to Maine. We were a group of adults who took in shopping, hiking, kayaking. Arcadia National Park will not disappoint you if you are a nature lover. Some of the views we encountered were breath taking. If shopping is your thing the Bar Harbor shops will delight any die hard shopper. If you like to gamble Bangor Maine's casino is only 42 minutes away. The explorer bus that travels throughout the park system as well as going into downtown Bar Harbor is just a few minutes from the cottage. Bar Harbor has limited & timed parking on the street, so taking the bus during high tourist season would be a bonus. We did have a rental car & we didn't end up using the bus, but it was a nice option if we wanted to do that. Folkstone cottage was more than adequate for our group. It was clean, comfortable and Lynn the owner was very helpful answering any questions that we asked. Folkstone cottage also provided everything we needed.....right down to the shower gel and shampoo. Detergent was even provided for the washing machine which came in handy because I had to do a small load of laundry because I didn't make note that in June in Maine the average temp was in the 70's, so I packed more shorts and not enough long pants. Although Maine is a dog friendly state and I love my 2 little maltipoos I am glad that I left them at home because there are so many unique towns to visit & quaint shops it would have been difficult to do with our dogs. Lastly I want to mention that there are many choices we could have picked but Folkstone was truly reasonably priced and it really had everything a person could want. Our refundable deposit was immediately returned to us as well. My expectations of the area and of Folkstone could not be anymore delightful despite the 2 days of rain and the small amount of money I lost at the casino."

Great value, very very clean, and private....Id love to stay here all year!
"I have stayed in many places in the 25 years that i have been visiting the Acadia region but nothing gives me greater joy than staying at the Corson Cottage. It is lovely, clean and highly efficient. It is located on the quiet side of the island and I love that as it lends itself to privacy, serenity, exploration, and gorgeous views. The downstairs is is bright, open, spacious for two people and I love the indoor fully functional bathroom, also very clean. Upstairs is accessed by a black wrought iron spiral staircase where 2 twin beds make for an inviting place for friends to join us. Parking is easy on the semi circular driveway and last minute groceries can be easily access by the grocery store which is walking distance from the property. If its very early in the season or late (I've been there for both) a small heater in the living room takes that Maine chill out of the air and reminds us why we all love to be in Maine as frequently as we can. If downtown Bar Harbor is for you its a short car ride or if you have forgotten a "must have" and downtown Southwest harbor doesn't fit your needs, Ellsworth is a short 25-30 minute drive. Id love to make this area my home someday and hope I can find a place as nice as Corson Cottage."
