"We are so very pleased with the stay in Northeast Harbor just at the outskirts of Acadia National Park. The unit was very clean on arrival, more than I have seen in other holiday rental apartments and houses, which both added to our level of comfort throughout the stay and attests to the care the owner puts into the property. When there were small issues, such as running out of gas for the grill, the owner was there to replace the gas within minutes. This to me is the great benefit of renting from someone on site--it is an extra buffer to insure things go well during your too-short holiday time. The beds were comfortable and showers were never short on hot water. The kitchen was perfect for making meals for the 7 of us (two small families). The proximity to the back door of Acadia both gets you to the park easily and also keeps you away from the busier front entrance on the Bar Harbor side of the park. Northeast Harbor provides all the basics you need for a good stay, and you are about a 10-15 mile ride from larger grocery stores. There is an elementary school across the street with a playground, baseball and soccer fields, great for running around at the end of the day of you have kids and with very little traffic at night, again perfect to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area yet close to so many activities. It could not have been a more pleasant stay. We look forward to coming back!"

"I can't say enough great things about this beautiful gem near Acadia National Park. The owner has gone out of her way to make it welcoming and enjoyable for visitors. The kitchen is more than well equipped; there are two full refrigerators and an empty pantry in the center that proved incredibly convenient for us to store the groceries we bought. We enjoyed using the puzzles in the living room, which has a large table and fireplace. Each room has a ceiling fan and the bathrooms were perfect. There is a pretty flower garden and yard, and the nearest Park entrance is not far away. We also found the location to be very convenient to Bar Harbor where we could use a less traveled approach. The one thing you should know, is that even though there are 4 lovely bedrooms (each with a hamper and empty dressers) 3 of the bedrooms are accessed through each other. The bedroom on the third floor with 4 single beds can only be reached through a bedroom with a queen bed which is accessed from the bedroom with a double bed. We were three couples and it worked out fine for us. I would definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Acadia."

"We stayed at Reath's rock from 14 June to 21 June. We had never been to Maine before or Thurston's for lobster. We were with my son and his wife and two grandsons. This was definitely the best vacation we have had in years. Your place was not a rental, but a home. Thank you so much for such a beautiful place to rest relax and teach my two grandsons how to play cribbage, as they wore me out on all the trails we hiked. What a blessing to have such a place, your grandparents in heaven must be proud"

"We found this house to be very comfortable. It is extremely close to the main street in Northeast Harbor, where there is a grocery, bakery, cafe, and plenty of shops to explore. The bus to Acadia and Bar Harbor runs right past the house. The house itself is bright and airy with high ceilings. It has a lovely deck and we ate outside several times. The beds were extremely comfortable with high quality linens. The layout is a little interesting, with one bedroom upstairs and the others downstairs, which allowed for a private hideaway. The kitchen, though smallish in terms of work surfaces, was well equipped with decent knives and ample glassware, dishes and pots/pans. The bathrooms are a bit old-fashioned (the kids got a kick out of the separate hot/cold water faucets)."
