"The house is nestled in the woods in a beautiful location. Very private. The house is pretty and well equipped with lots of space. Very nice to have the fire pit, hammock, canoe and bikes. The blue tooth stereo and ROKU TV were nice additions. The canoe launch site is very close and makes a nice hike. There is also a nature conservancy very close with walking trails. The only difficulty is the bathroom layout. The bedrooms are all upstairs and the one bath upstairs is off of one of the bedrooms. Only the downstairs bathroom has a shower. The upstairs has a whirlpool tub. Otherwise a perfect house."

"My sister's family and ours stayed at Windiana for the week and could not have had a nicer time. The weather was perfect - warm sunny days and cool starry nights. Hiking, kayaking, and eating at the wonderful nearby restaurants made for a memorable week. Loons, eagles, and jumping fish everywhere. The owner made sure we had everything we needed and provided us with great ideas for things to do and places to go. I would go back in a minute!"

"My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at this cottage. It is perfect for two people looking for a home base to virtually anywhere on Mt. Desert Island. The kitchen was very well equipped with anything a traveler may need (the coffee filters were particularly appreciated). We found the patio to be quite lovely in the morning and a nice way to rest weary legs at the end of the day. A few items that are important to note for future visitors. First, the cottage is on Rt. 102, which means there is some car noise from 6:00 am until early evening. Rt. 102 has a limited shoulder and is not suitable for safe running/walking, in my opinion. Second, the bedroom faces east, making it rather bright in the morning even with a shade and blinds. The final point is not related to the cottage though worth noting. Bass Harbor is remotely located relative to the rest of the island. Southwest Harbor is less than 5 minutes away, but Bar Harbor can be as much as 45 minutes with traffic. Overall, a great place for a couple looking to get away from it all and take in the pleasures of the quiet side (be sure to go over to Seawall with a bottle of wine and some cheese, it's totally legal!)."

Convenient, charming and well equipped base in a beautiful location
"The property was well equipped (from toys for children to games to laundry detergent!) with plenty of space for our party of 7 (2 children, 5 adults). The location is fantastic: right in the heart of Bar Harbor but on a quiet street a 2 minute walk from the supermarket. Acadia National Park is a quick drive/cycle away. We loved sitting out on the porch and in the rear decked area. The owner gave some excellent recommendations of things to do in the area so do ask!"
