"We arrived on Sunday evening and could not have been more excited about our drive to Bass Harbor. Our vacation rental was located in a large historic home owned by Barb and Bill Evans. The house was constructed in the mid 1800's. The home is been sectioned off converting the back half into its own private living quarters. This charming rental has a very large kitchen, two bedrooms, two baths, living and laundry room. The rental is complete with wifi and cable tv. The best asset of the home are the owners Barb and Bill Evans. Barb and Bill have been living at their summer home for the past 27 years. They have a wealth of knowledge about the local establishments and historic parts of Mt. Desert Island and Acadia. Fresh lobsters can be purchased across the street, and if you need help, Bill graciously volunteers his time to show you how to prepare them. Bass Harbor is a beautiful, picturesque harbor town. As you look out across the bay you see what you have always imagined....lobster boats, lobster buoys, sailboats, and boat docks. The village homes are complimented by landscaping arrangements full of a vast variety of delightful wild flowers. Across the harbor you can see the town of Bernard nestled on a hill displaying it's own small town charm. The best thing about Bass Harbor is that it is removed from all of the hustle and bustle found in the other harbor town communities on Mt. Desert Island. It is so much more relaxing than having to deal with the traffic and commercialism found in the nearby towns. After you have had a day out touring Acadia National Park, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor you can come back to Barb and Bill Evan's rental for a relaxing evening, take a walk around the bay, or eat at the Seafood Katch. I would not stay anywhere else....hoping to return for another great vacation!"

"Wonderful location close to Acadia National Park, right on the water. The house is super comfortable and very open and attractive. I especially loved the kitchen, which was clearly stocked by a serious cook, and the deck. Incredible setting and just a great experience overall, would love to go back."

"We stayed at Acadia Meadow for 4 nights and it was a great fit for us.
Suze and Tod were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated and enjoyed the items from their garden.
Acadia Meadow is very clean and a great place to relax and be able to cook meals. As mentioned by others they have thought of everything to make it a wonderful stay.
It is close to Acadia National Park and far enough away from the busyness of Bar Harbor.
We would highly recommend Acadia Meadow for a quiet, relaxing place to stay with great hosts."

"We just returned from L 'Acadie with such beautiful memories. Our purpose was to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday so I wanted something that was out of the ordinary. We certainly found it at L'Acadie. We traveled with another couple and I was given the privilege of making all the arrangements. I knew from the reviews and the pictures that we wouldn't be disappointed but to see 65 plus year olds get excited about our location and accommodations was a treat in itself. The first evening we had the lunar eclipse and was able to experience that on the upper deck...what a site and start to a perfect week. We did have a lot of rain one day but even that was a good thing as it made us slow down just a bit and enjoy the quietness of the area. There was a great grocery store in South West Harbor, only a few minutes from L 'Acadie for the few things we needed. We had such a great time at a local restaurant too....if you get the chance, stop at Sipps in Southwest Harbor. Another highlight,on a rainy day was Oceanarium, north of Bar Harbor. Be sure to have popovers at Jordon Pond and Lobster stew...and don't forget Lobster at Thurston's about 5 minutes from L'Acadie...We all cannot wait to go back someday."
