"We were first timers to Maine and Acadia. We had heard from many people we know about the crowds in the park. Initially, we debated changing our plans for vacation because we were trying to escape the hustle and bustle of our everyday life. We are glad we didn't.
The Tern II is an amazing property. We were all taken with the peace and quiet of the property not to mention the beauty of both the house itself and the landscape. The house is rustic and charming with room for everyone to hang out together or find their own space. The views from the windows and deck overlooking the ocean were gorgeous watching the changing tides and the abundant wildlife. Sitting out on the deck at night, I don't remember the last time I had seen so many stars.
We found the house stocked with everything we could possibly need - cooking utensils, towels and extras most rental homes don't include. The location is very convenient to the park and restaurants yet far enough away to be able to escape the crowds.
Overall, there isn't anything negative that I can say about our stay here. It made for a relaxing and memorable family vacation."

"Our whole family stayed for a week in this marvelous quiet waterfront home on Mount Desert Island. One of the things I loved about it was the sense that this was a real home to another family that loves the coast of Maine as much as we do. The accommodations were very comfortable, with a variety of sleeping arrangements that made it easy for each member of our family to find a room that worked perfectly. The furnishings were charming -- worthy of this classic Maine summer place. We were preparing for our daughter's Saturday night wedding at a nearby Seal Cove venue, and Heron Pool's central location -- handy to Somesville, Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and Southwest Harbor -- was ideal. Cannot say enough good things about our stay!!!"

"Willowbrook was a perfect house for our week long vacation for our family of seven adults and seven children. There was plenty of space to spread out. We loved our family dinners in the dining room. It is rare to find a dining room where we could all dine together. The location was perfect for sightseeing. Our grandchildren loved playing ball on the huge yard. They also enjoyed fishing on the pond across the street. Every afternoon we swam at Somes pond which was just up the street. It is great being across from the bus stop.
The thirty page information book was a great help in planning our stay. It is rare to find a home where the kitchen had everything that you needed. The home is very well equipped. There are a huge number of china and wine glasses. We needed a new can opener and Diana delivered it the next day. She also arranged to have the wireless repaired. She takes great care to keep the home in perfect condition. The home is extremely well managed. Diana recommended Red Sky in Southwest Harbor and Thurston's Lobster Pound which were both great. You can also cook lobsters at the home and everything is there including a Martha Stewart recipe on cooking lobsters."

"John, Priscilla and Suze (manager) were all wonderful and very responsive and helpful.
The house is tucked away in a nice neighborhood and as other reviews mentioned, it is in a very quiet and peaceful setting. It is clean, comfortable and spacious with everything you need. Nice kitchen, great washer/dryer.
Getting to Bar Harbor can take up to 20-25 minutes with traffic during the busier times. There are wonderful hikes and interesting things to do on this side of MDI, so no need to drive to the other side all the time.
All in all, a lovely spot for a wonderful vacation!"
