  • A beautiful, secluded hideaway on Longpond

"Windiana met all of our expectations and then some. It was secluded yet only a short drive to "civilization" so the location was perfect for us. And right on the lake - what more could you ask for? The indoor accommodations were top notch and cozy. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The bathroom and washer and dryer were top of the line. And the shower -- WOW -- stone, large, and a great shower head. On top of all this there were canoes and kayaks that we had so much fun with in the lake. We would go back to Windiana in a heartbeat!!!"

  • Charm and Comfort in a wonderful setting

"This is a great spot to do Acadia. It's right in the center of the park in a charming old village. Very well furnished and comfortable, more so than appears in the photos. The owners are very helpful and gracious."

  • Family Vacation and Anniversary celebration

"We enjoyed our stay at Willowbrook very much. The house easily accommodated the eleven of us. The bedrooms were all large and the beds were fine. The kitchen had everything we needed and the washer and dryer were brand new. The living room was very large and was ideal for evening gatherings. Location was great for seeing Acadia and Bar Harbor. Owner gave us some great recommendations for sight seeing and restaurants. Thurston's Lobster Pound was worth the short drive."

  • September To Remember

"This was our family's first visit to Maine and Acadia. Renting this house was the best plan we made for the trip. The quiet serenity, the wildlife, and the scenery were all amazing. The house is rustic like a cabin and well equipped like a family home. We spent our mornings watching harbor seals and identifying birds including bald eagles, osprey, loons, cormorants, various woodpeckers (including a pileated pair), kingfishers, and forest songbirds. An eagle landed in a tree right off the deck when were were eating our first breakfast. We were visited by deer and red squirrels. We hated to leave and cannot wait to return. Tern II is an enchanting place to spend a week or more. Definitely bring binoculars, even if you are not an active birder. Also: The restaurants in the small towns around the island are outstanding. Red Sky and Sips in Southwest Harbour are excellent, just to name two."
