Perfect Family Reunion Venue
"My extended family stayed a week at the Captain Nathan Clark house and we found it an ideal location for our family reunion. The house itself is historic and beautiful, and with it's innumerable additions and remodels over many decades it has a funky charm as well. We found it as comfortable as an old shoe! It actually has two kitchens (which we designated as "food" and "beverage") 2 family rooms, as well as a formal dining room with a view of the harbor. The layout allows for many people to cook and eat together, but also to find space to spread out and find peace and quiet. There are two different outside porch areas and extensive yards and gardens. My teenage kids enjoyed the fascinating old books and great collection of games and puzzles.
It is only a 1 minute walk to Beal's Lobster Pier, where we ate MANY times during the week (and also watched an amazing fireworks display on the Fourth), and an easy stroll into town. A great surprise and wonderful addition to town is the Common Good Cafe, where for a donation to the local soup kitchen you can eat your fill of the BEST popovers on the island (Sorry, Jordan Pond House!). Another nice surprise: just a very short walk up the side street to the lovely grounds of the Claremont Hotel and Xanthus restaurant and dockside cocktail bar. It was nice to be staying in the relative tranquility of Southwest Harbor with bustling Bar Harbor being still just a short drive away. Southwest Harbor is real "working water" with fishing boats, Coast Guard and more. It was a great reunion and we will be back!"

"This was our third and longest visit to Mt. Desert Island. We knew we wanted to stay in Southwest Harbor and I was delighted to find the one-bedroom Carriage House. It was the perfect space for two people. Very quiet, comfortable and well appointed. A great place to unwind from the stress of everyday life. The location is within walking distance of "downtown" Southwest Harbor and Flying Mountain trail head. Debbie (owner) was great to work with through the whole rental process and promptly responded to all inquires and questions. We would definitely stay here again!"

"What a great place! This home is so nice and comfortable, very relaxing and so quiet. It is literally 400 feet from Main Street, but it's on a dead end, so it was quiet any time of day. My favorite things about Wesley House are the fireplace, the big kitchen, lots of sunlight with all the windows and it is so comfortable it really felt like home to us. I also liked the big table in the dining area. We spread out our maps and planned our adventures from this spot. We were pleasantly surprised that it is not far from Bar Harbor at all. Gina is so pleasant to deal with. She is prompt with emails and and any questions or special requests. She is a great resource with suggestions/ideas about places to eat, where to rent bikes, ideas for great walks, hikes and even ideas about what to do on a rainy day. The kitchen is fully stocked, there are lots of towels, firewood, blankets, pillows, hot water, books, games. You name it. Just very comfortable with anything you might need. We just loved Acadia and the small town feel of Southwest Harbor. Great place, and Gina is so nice. Rent Wesley House, you will not be disappointed."

"Owners, Jon and Nancy, were most kind to our family. We found the water-view and the property to quiet and peaceful. One can see that Jon and Nancy take pride in their gardens and property. Top Sail was clean, well equipped and maintained. The property was accurately depicted in the photos and written description. Top Sail comfortably sleeps 8. Having a washer and dryer, two kitchens and two baths was most convenient. As we paddled in their kayaks, we enjoyed looking at the boats in Southwest Harbor. Southwest Harbor has cute shops and several nice eats. Beals: informal, great lobster; The Little Notch: excellent bake goods and sandwiches; and Sips' blueberry pancakes are awesome. The ride was easy to beautiful Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. Sunrise and sunset in Acadia are memorable. Bar Harbor is so much fun with shops, eats and excursions. I highly recommend Top Sail and I would return again."
