Great Family Reunion
"This lovely house afforded our family a great opportunity to all be together for meals and socializing. There were 17 of us…adults and grown children. During the day family members went off hiking or touring but we would get together for dinners in the huge dinning room. The house is in a very convenient location… minutes from the Park entrance at Seal Harbor and no more than 10 minutes to Jordan Pond House. The back terrace is large and has a million dollar view."

"Our second trip here in 3 years. I so wish we could come every year. This cottage is THE best. It was like coming home again. My family which includes daughters aged 20 and 9 love it here. There was so much anticipation before we got here. It is magical driving down the driveway and seeing the bay in front of you. The view is breath taking. We weren't even completely unpacked for the week when they were down on the beach clamming. Close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor that we never minded the drive in (maybe 30 minutes). My husband and oldest went deep sea fishing for a half a day. Poked around Bar Harbor several times. Bar Island, shops, restaurants and in Acadia to Sand Beach and up early one morning to see the sunrise on top of Cadillac. Other than when we went to Acadia we generally planned to spend half of the day exploring and the other at the cottage enjoying the property itself and just regrouping as a family playing board games, trying new recipes (cottage is stocked well with spices and pans and such) and relaxing. Laying in bed one morning and listening to a pair of loons calling to each other over the quiet bay was thrilling as well as seeing a deer with her 4 babies in the morning mist visiting us. Exploring Lamoine State Park just a few minutes away is always a request with fishing, beach exploring and a picnic lunch.
The property owners have made us feel more than welcome and we truly cannot wait to get back. My only regret is that we could not stay longer. You could easily spend two weeks here and fill it up with things to do or just be happy at the cottage and do nothing. We cannot wait to get back again."

"The web description doesn’t do justice to Grey Rocks! It is a well maintained 1890s mansion with all modern conveniences, in a gorgeous setting, with beautiful flowers in the yard and on the deck. It’s very private, at the end of a long gravel drive, woods on three sides and the rocky beach on the other. The back lawn is great for romping dogs and playing kids, and the full-length back deck is wonderful for picnics and hanging out and looking at the ocean, where you see (and hear) lobster boats going by. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans, the dishwasher and laundry machines work well, and while there are only two showers in the four bathrooms, everything worked. We (ten people, two dogs) loved the house and the location** which made for an idyllic vacation.
** Five minutes walk to Thurston’s Lobster Pound – no parking hassle!"

"We found this house to be very comfortable. It is extremely close to the main street in Northeast Harbor, where there is a grocery, bakery, cafe, and plenty of shops to explore. The bus to Acadia and Bar Harbor runs right past the house. The house itself is bright and airy with high ceilings. It has a lovely deck and we ate outside several times. The beds were extremely comfortable with high quality linens. The layout is a little interesting, with one bedroom upstairs and the others downstairs, which allowed for a private hideaway. The kitchen, though smallish in terms of work surfaces, was well equipped with decent knives and ample glassware, dishes and pots/pans. The bathrooms are a bit old-fashioned (the kids got a kick out of the separate hot/cold water faucets)."
