"My family and I really enjoyed our weekend stay! This was our first time visiting Maine during the peak foliage season, and we were not disappointed! As soon as we arrived, the kids hit the nearby playground. The home was very clean, and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were the right size for our large family. It felt like home away from home! We spent one day at Acadia National Park (about 45 mins away), and really enjoyed the autumn color. Schoodic Point was a favorite for all of us, and was only a short drive away from this home.
We would definitely recommend this home to our family and friends!"

"Beautifully restored, historic house makes you feel a real part of this charming, low-key, friendly town. The proximity to Schoodic Point for biking, birding, photography, and ocean watching is wonderful. We didn't even go to Acadia on MDI this year - Schoodic has what we value most (beauty, outdoor activities) without the crowds."

"The love shack sounded kind of silly at first especially as we were coming for our honymoon. There is something to the name though of that we can be sure. The owners have re done the "shack" and frankly the term no longer applies. Everything about it is perfect. There is not a square inch of the place that was not re done. The kitchenett is a true kitchennet. There is a college sized fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and a sink in the bathroom. For the two of us we were able to make breakfeast sandwiches, lunches, and several dinners there.
The owners provide bikes and sea kayaks which we took advantage of. (when they say go at high tide they mean it.) They also provided maps and general travel information regrding the area. They are pet friendly as well and our dogs really enjoyed the stay. The location was perfect for day trips into the various parts of Acadia as well as to Bar harbor. Bar harbor proper was roughly a 40 min drive. The scodhic point protion of acadia is practically right next door and offers plenty to do in its own right. Bring plenty of memory cards for the camera because you cant take a bad picture. The owners have a nice dock area with a bench that overlooks the harbor. Very nice spot to watch the sunset with a cigar. All in all I will say that everything was as described or better and the owners were most accommodating. My only negitive would be the sluggish internet but in this neck of the woods just having a constant connection is a victory."

"Clean, well supplied, though not what we would call a cottage. Furnishings are a bit formal. Not a place for the young folk to run wild. Bathroom small, but the washer and dryer were great. Though we were not expecting a grill, we were happy to find a small Weber which we used 2 nights! We would recommend additional outdoor seating(currently 2 chairs), though the mosquitos will drive you in. Location relative to Winter Harbor, Schoodic Pennisula and Grindstone Neck was perfect! We biked and kayaked and ate a very affordable yummy meal at the Pickled Wrinkle. Bought lobsters at Corea Lobsterman's Coop...right off the boat! Looking for Maine not over run with tourists? Head to Winter Harbor."
