"The house was as described..actually no. Much better! Clean, peaceful, beautiful settings and everything provided to make your stay easy and comfortable. We couldn't wait to sit out on the dock early morning and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. We swam all the way to the nearest beach sometimes. The water is clear, fresh and clean. Just wonderful. We were there to explore Acadia NP, but ended up wanting to spent more time at the house and our "own private " lake. It's an easy 40 minute drive to Acadia, 20 minutes to supermarkets etc. Unfortunately our stay was cut short, but we will definitely return. I can't thank Candice and her husband enough for their help, kindness and thoughtfulness. Thank you!"Guest: Sharon Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 8, 2014View listing
"My family had a wonderful vacation visiting Acadia and this home was the perfect home base for us. We were traveling with a 6 month old and the house's close location to everything made it convenient to not have to have him stuck in the carseat for prolonged periods of time. In addition, there was plenty to keep us occupied at the house during nap time. It was wonderful to explore the water around the house in the kayaks and wander around the tide pools. The house was spaciousl, clean, and well-equipped. We will definitely use this house again if we find ourselves back in the area!"Guest: Visitor Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 29, 2014View listing
"We have vacationed all over the beautiful Maine coast many times over the past 30 years. Mt. Desert Island is our particular favorite due to the astounding beauty, tranquility, wildlife viewing, and diverse activities available. My working life has enabled me to visit coastal Maine many times, so Maine always stands foremost in my memory when choosing a vacation destination. This year we required a very special location so our far flung family could gather together. On paper FJORD HOME met every requirement we envisioned. The reality is that FJORD HOME exceeded all our expectations. It is the perfect vacation home. The owner could not be more gracious and accommodating. The house is outfitted with every amenity. The other reviews on this site mention many of the outdoor opportunities available, and they are all seconded. However one one could spend a week alone simply exploring the hiking trails in Acadia NP, not to mention the cycling available on the 55 miles on “carriage roads”."Guest: Dave V. "My wife and I had a fabulous vacation at Two Loons! The weather was perfect, the cabin was everything as promised, the dock, the pond, the wildlife, all outstanding! Very relaxing, at times it felt like we had a private pond (more like a lake) to ourselves. We enjoyed Acadia and Bar Harbor, but the best thing was absolutely the cabin and the lobsters of course! I would highly recommend staying at Two Loons. The owner,Tim was great as well Thank you for a great stay!"Guest: Kevin B. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 31, 2014View listing

Acadia National Park is Minutes Away From Acadia Lodging
You and your family can visit Acadia National Park to see the 54 square miles of Mount Desert Island. This fantastic island is the largest rock-based island in the Atlantic Ocean region. These rounded domes have been around for centuries with summits that are clustered with pine, spruce and fir trees as well as a profound profusion of wildflowers. Bird-lovers will find a large variety of birds within the park’s boundaries so do not forget to bring your binoculars. Guests of Acadia rentals can visit the park throughout the year with the exception of a two-mile section along the ocean during the winter.
With a fully equipped kitchen, you will be able to pack a picnic lunch so that you can hike some of the 125 miles of trails. If you are so inclined, there are horse-drawn carriage rides that are available from mid-June to early October. Otherwise, you can indulge your passion for fresh sea air by biking or taking a walking tour. Park rangers are on-hand from late spring to early fall to provide information on the area. After a delicious dinner, bring the family to a campfire program where you could learn about marine life, history or wildlife. You can even take a cruise around Frenchman Bay and the Cranberry Islands to get a great perspective from the water. A seven-day pass is the perfect accompaniment to your wonderful Acadia lodging reservation.
