  • Amazing retreat

"We loved every minute of our vacation at this wonderful home. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The kitchen is perfect for cooking and cleaning for a larger group. Waking up to the sound of the loons and being able to sit on the very private dock was lovely. The screened in porch was the perfect place to have our meals and the back deck so peaceful for cocktails and relaxing. The children were able to swim from the dock which they loved. The house is even better than it looks online. Highly recommend it."

  • Perfect summer getaway

"This is the second time we've stayed at the Loon's Nest and it was even better than we remembered. The location can't be beat - Lake Annabessacook is large enough to offer lots of recreational opportunity, but small enough to feel very private. Steve has outfitted the property with kayaks, a rowboat, big innertubes, a paddleboat and plenty of life vests for all sizes - we emailed to let him know that a gasket was missing from the paddleboat and he brought a new one over two days later! The back yard is perfect for get-togethers, the dock is clean and comfortable and the water was gorgeous with a couple of loon families who swam right along with us and sang to us at night. We brought stand up paddle boards with us and had a blast. The house has plenty of room with a light and airy layout and fantastic views of the lake, very clean, well-stocked kitchen, gas grill, plenty of towels. Great location, 5 minutes from the grocery store, within an hour's drive of Freeport, several coastal beaches and plenty of other Maine beauty. Definitely recommend and will plan to stay again."

  • Beautiful relaxing vacation

"We stayed here with 4 adults, a 7 year old child and a dog. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived because the photos do not do the house justice. The entry level has 2 bedrooms (one with a king bed and one with a queen bed) and a bathroom. The bedrooms were very pretty, clean and comfortable with ceiling fans and air conditioners. The basement level (one level down) has a bigger bathroom and a room with 2 twin beds. There is also a loft area above the living room which had a small sleeping area which was perfect for our 7 year old. The house was clean and well maintained with a nice supply of dishes, towels, etc. We spent alot of time at the waterfront area which was small but worked well for our group. The dock was twice as wide as shown in the photos and more sturdy than I was expecting. The hammock was a terrific place to read and watch the water. The lake itself has boat traffic but it was very quiet and minimal while we were there and we had a great time exploring with the 2 kayaks and canoe that were on the property. It is a great place to fish and swim - there's a rocky entry and bottom for the swimming area but it was fine with swim shoes. One warning that there are alot of stairs to get down to the waterfront so it would be difficult for someone with disabilities and would be alot of work with very young children. But it worked perfectly for a 7 year old and a medium sized dog and gave us extra exercise. The owner was very responsive via email before we arrived and was quick to answer any questions that we had. I would definitely recommend this rental as a beautiful stay for someone looking to relax and enjoy the water!"

  • Amazing

"This place is AMAZING!!. My family and I stayed here in August, It was our first time to the Waterfall Cottage but our Millionth time to Belgrade Village. I just want to say that it was such a beautiful cottage inside and outside, the kids had a blast swimming and fishing off the dock and the adults had a blast being able to relax and and enjoy the laughter of the kids.. It so close to the little town and Days store. We all loved it and wish we could of stayed longer.."
