"We loved every minute of our vacation at this wonderful home. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The kitchen is perfect for cooking and cleaning for a larger group. Waking up to the sound of the loons and being able to sit on the very private dock was lovely. The screened in porch was the perfect place to have our meals and the back deck so peaceful for cocktails and relaxing. The children were able to swim from the dock which they loved. The house is even better than it looks online. Highly recommend it."

"Since the 70's, my wife and I have spent some portion of every summer in Maine. For the last 3 Augusts we have stayed at Steve's Cove Point camp where we feel we have finally found our ideal place. We go to Maine for reasons probably different from most. We don't fish or hunt; we're not boaters; we don't even like s'mores! While Cove Point certainly offers a wealth of opportunities for a unique "camp experience," we are drawn there for the serenity, peace and the sheer beauty of this captivating setting. Here we can experience "the perfect moment" where time seems to stand still. It has become a type of sanctuary for us and helps restore our spirit. Others who seek a similar opportunity will surely find it here.
The location permits easy day trips to explore what Maine has to offer. The quaint charm of the coastal towns like Belfast or the grandeur of Moosehead Lake or the scenic Kennebec River valley are within easy reach. Yet returning back to Cover Point is always most gratifying.
Steve is without a doubt the best owner we have ever experienced. His attention to detail and the needs of his guests is exceptionable. He is truly concerned that our stay is outstanding and goes above and beyond to guarantee that. His love of Cove Point is always obvious and he instills that same feeling in us. It is hard to leave Cove Point; we always look forward to our return. Thanks Steve for sharing your bonnie, bonnie place with us!"

"Sad to be back to life in the fast lane.Every other year we look for a large home to rent around the Augusta area as we have extended family all around Maine . We had 23 people travel from northern Virginia this year to rent this home from the Howard's. We have rented several different homes in the Belgrade lake area,Cobbossee,Androscoggin, and China lake .I have no doubt that I will look no further, as this home will be our final resting place on a lake in Maine to vacation . I was in contact with the owner on several occasions .He always got right back to me regarding any question or concern . Mr Howard even let my family meet him at the house to tour it while he was there winterizing it.
The Howard's home is absolutely perfect for a large group of all ages.We ranged from ages 1 -75. Even with such a large group we NEVER felt crowded or bored here no matter what the weather happened to be .
The house was VERY clean upon arrival.Nice leather furniture. The kitchen was awesome with an incredible Viking stove. All the bedrooms were very comfortable with nice sheets. The water pressure in all the showers was outstanding. The loft was huge and just perfect for all our teenagers. The upper and lower deck was great for a outdoor dining together. The game room always had someone in it. Pinball machines were a blast. Very neat and organized. The outdoor sport activities were endless! The little ones loved the playground as well. Go the extra mile and rent the new Pontoon boat . It was a huge highlight to be able to take family cruises every day. Mr Howard also allowed us to bring our bass boat and jet ski. Loved having all the kayaks so everyone could get a better view of this quiet beautiful lake. We picked blueberries from one of the small islands and saw lots of loons, hawks, turtles, deer and a bald eagle. One of our favorites things to do in Maine is fish. We had a family tournament between us and the winner caught an almost 4 lb. large mouth bass . The fishing was not a disappointment. Lots of good size fish.My personal favorite feature besides having my family and friends under one roof in such a great place would have to be watching everyone go down the waterside . Sheer Joy !
If you have a large group of people who are not uptight, love to live life as it should be. Can relax ,appreciate good company , can have fun and enjoy many aspects of the Maine outdoors than this is your place. So glad I found it . Thank You Mr & Mrs. Howard we will be back!"

"We stayed here with 4 adults, a 7 year old child and a dog. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived because the photos do not do the house justice. The entry level has 2 bedrooms (one with a king bed and one with a queen bed) and a bathroom. The bedrooms were very pretty, clean and comfortable with ceiling fans and air conditioners. The basement level (one level down) has a bigger bathroom and a room with 2 twin beds. There is also a loft area above the living room which had a small sleeping area which was perfect for our 7 year old. The house was clean and well maintained with a nice supply of dishes, towels, etc. We spent alot of time at the waterfront area which was small but worked well for our group. The dock was twice as wide as shown in the photos and more sturdy than I was expecting. The hammock was a terrific place to read and watch the water. The lake itself has boat traffic but it was very quiet and minimal while we were there and we had a great time exploring with the 2 kayaks and canoe that were on the property. It is a great place to fish and swim - there's a rocky entry and bottom for the swimming area but it was fine with swim shoes. One warning that there are alot of stairs to get down to the waterfront so it would be difficult for someone with disabilities and would be alot of work with very young children. But it worked perfectly for a 7 year old and a medium sized dog and gave us extra exercise. The owner was very responsive via email before we arrived and was quick to answer any questions that we had. I would definitely recommend this rental as a beautiful stay for someone looking to relax and enjoy the water!"
