  • Spectacularly Beautiful and Secluded Setting

"Like another reviewer already mentioned.....the photos don't do justice to how amazing the scenery is. You can't see any other houses from the cottage....just wild coastline wherever you look. The house is bright, open, clean and in immaculate condition. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys beauty, quiet, privacy, and being off the beaten path. We saw eagles every day. There are great opportunities for hiking at a myriad of parks and Nature Conservancy reserves, as well as biking, within a 45 minute drive or less. The Schoodic Peninsula is a wonderful easy 10 mile bike loop with breathtaking scenery. Great seafood is available everywhere. There are lots of very talented artists living in the area that have shops open to the public. I highly recommend this cottage!"

  • Spectacular views & history!!

"Enjoyed every second exploring this wonderful property. My husband got with a couple of locals who offered to bring him fishing. He had such great time he's making plans with the gentleman on our next trip out here. Our teenage girls had a blast! Having wireless internet at night kept them busy with the latest gossip so their not missing friends back home. Our 2 little boys Wolfie and Lil bull LOVED sampling everything that washed up. It was their first time to a beach not a lake house and they played all day long. We also had the chance to meet the most adorable seal we named Peeper! The 5 days we stayed here he would always swim near us while on the row boat. One day he got so close he spooked us and himself. It was such an incredible feeling and experience we will remember. The house was gorgeous and spacious. The pics don't show how extremely beautiful all the views are. I loved the history in the house between the photo books, art by Ann Rhodin through out the house, and the Bongo board has been placing lots of smiles and heart filled memories for 50 yrs. We all had a great vacation. Would suggest one thing, maybe place a private property sign at the beach where rose path leads to the house. Some locals must use the trails at the house so if your a group of women or have kids playing in yard while your at the beach you might feel a little uneasy. I'd like to thank the Rhodins for letting others enjoy this oasis and Donna for always getting back to us."

  • Absolutely incredible!

"We just returned from a three day stay at this lovely home in Addison, ME. Everything was simply incredible! From the lovely note welcoming us to the home, to the glorious views, to the impeccably clean and beautifully decorated home itself ...... the photos on this website are wonderful, but the actual home is even better! Pamela and Peter have thought of everything to make you comfortable. I wish we could have stayed much longer! Thank you for an incredible weekend in a most beautiful place. We will definitely be back!"

  • The title was an accurate description

"The property is a great example of a farmhouse of a bygone era. It has a mix of antique surroundings with modern amenities. The rural nature of the area makes a terrific getaway from the pressures of modern life, absolute quiet, most cell phones unable to connect! Long walks, exploring villages, antiquing, admiring the rugged Maine coast, fishing, lots to see and discover. The sunroom invites all to relax together after a full day or get caught up on reading. Acadia N.P. is a great day trip. Overall a great find, a relaxing getaway, will recommend to friends and family!"
