"Well appointed, well located, clean, attractive, quiet and private--this place was perfect. My husband and I had a fabulous 2 weeks (almost) here: fishing, relaxing, sight seeing and eating well. The kitchen has everything you could need, the canoe and kayak were in good condition, the dock provided easy access to the lake, and the owners of the cabin were extremely helpful and accommodating. If we ever return to the area, we would certainly rent here again."

"Our third year spending a week in this family cottage on Gouldsboro Bay, and have already asked Laura to book us for 2016. Quiet, rustic, oceanfront with a nice view and breezes off the bay through the screened porch even on hot days, just the way we like it. We recommend the Darthia Farmstand in Gouldsboro, Painted Pepper Farm's phenomenal goat's milk gelato, and the local farmer's markets (Milbridge or Machias) for fresh blueberry pies. Hikes nearby at Petit Manan Point, in the National Wildlife Refuge, with dogs welcome on leash, and up Pigeon Hill (on the road out to Petit Manan) are perfect for hot summer days. Looking forward to next year!"

"I just returned from the most relaxing enjoyable week at Ripley Neck Cottage. It had the most spectacular views looking out on the water and when the tide went out, you could walk over to the sandbar and look for driftwood and unusual little rocks to collect. At night you could sit outside and use the fire pit and when you looked up at the sky, the whole sky would be lit up with stars. When the moon came out and it was full when we were there, it was absolutely beautiful reflecting on the water. The cottage was immaculate and had a full range of dishes and cooking necessities. George is great to deal with and can answer any questions you might have. We went shopping to some of the local pottery shops, went to Bar Harbor shopping, went to the top of Cadillac Mountain and the views were amazing and visited different scenic spots in Acadia National Park. We also went to Schoodic Point and enjoyed climbing down the rocks to the water. This cottage is well worth it and not to be missed. You will love it so much there is no doubt you will want return every year."

"We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Downeast Retreat. The house was exactly as pictured and in addition to being lovely, was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. It was a perfect base for exploring or for simply hanging out and enjoying the beautiful setting. Ray and Jo were wonderfully welcoming -- we would love to come back."
