  • Indian Summer at the Bold Coast

"We had a wonderful time at Bold Coast Cottage. Compared to other rentals we have stayed in, the house is very well equipped which is extremely helpful for those traveling from a great distance. There are lots of brochures, magazines, trail maps, etc. to read about the area to help plan your week and get the most out of your vacation. And the location is so quiet and serene that not going anywhere but the deck is perfectly fine, too. The area is a hikers' paradise and the cottage is in a nice central location, perfect for those looking to get away from it all. The wifi came in handy, I was able to keep up with the college courses I am taking, and we had plenty of room to spread out and work in the dining room which did not interfere with our meals in the kitchen. I would stay here again and would recommend the cottage to others."

  • A Wonderful Time!!!

"WOW!! That sums it up! We had a wonderful time and wish we could have spent more time here. What a relaxing place. The trails were fantastic! The views spectacular. Yes, there was fog, and it comes and goes, which only adds to the beauty of this place. Tons of pictures to be taken, on site!! Sleeping with the windows open, especially for us from the hot, drought hit area of the country, was very welcomed. And hearing the splashing waves on the shore was wonderful to hear as we fell asleep each night. The cottage is secluded, but there are wonderful day trips to enjoy! Our favorite was Campobello. We should have reserved more time to spend there. And the Little River Lobster Company is a must!! Just around the corner in Maine-speak (OK, a 10 mile round trip)! We actually walked down to the dock, and they pulled our fresh lobsters out of the water. YUM!! The cottage is stocked to cook and enjoy them there. A wonderful time. And a special thanks to Julie and Mike, the caretakers. The BEST!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!"

  • Beautiful Views, Best Lobster in the World and Charming Cottage!!

"The pictures don't do justice to this beautiful cottage or the spectacular view from the decks. It has everything you need with an old world charm. Its full of antiques, downeast hospitality and harbor views from almost every window.. Cutler is the quaintest fishing village you will find. The beautiful sunrises shine on the lobster boats leaving the harbor for work. Upon their return you can walk down to buy the freshest lobster you'll ever eat. When we could tear ourselves from the deck and the view, we had plenty to do. We golfed at the local course, hiked the Bold Coast, went on a Pufffin Tour, and visited the beautiful coastal villages of Lubec (visit Monica's Chocolates!) and Eastport. We also drove to Campobello Island, Canada (30 minutes away) to visit FDRs summer home. Don't forget your passport. ! This was our 2nd visit and we booked ahead for next year.! We are at our most relaxed when we come to Cutler. We couldn't have had better hosts. They provided all the info we needed to have a wonderful time. You will NOT be disappointed!!!!"

  • Outstanding Again!

"We recently had the pleasure of staying at Somerled for our second visit. We absolutely loved it the first time, and I was wondering if maybe we were going to be disappointed this time. To say that someplace is even better the second time around definitely describes this wonderful, unique home. Since we knew what the area has to offer ahead of time, this made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. Words cannot completely describe what you will experience here. If you are searching for someplace peaceful, quiet, and full of nature, this is your answer. The home is located where you will not hear any cars, and the only people you will see are the lobstermen as they pull and set their traps. Seals played in front of the house everyday we were there too! Complete relaxation! As I mentioned in my earlier review, the worst part is having to leave. The long trip we made from Indiana to Somerled is so well worthwhile. We hope to return again in the future, but hope to stay longer next time. The hosts of this home are absolutely wonderful! We WILL return! Thank you for sharing your amazing home!"
