"Beautifully maintained cottage nestled among dense white birch and spruce forest with spectacular ocean view and sand spur beach. Peaceful and quiet and we were enthralled with the amazing night skies and star gazing that Downeast is famous for. Enjoyed the close proximity to our excursions- 1 hour drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor, 2 hours to Lubec and Campobello Island and 4 hours away from Fundy National Park, New Brunswick (passports required). Enjoyed great dining from Bar Harbors many fine restauarants as well as Ruth & Wimpy's Diner in Hancock and 44 Degrees North in nearby Milbridge. Cottage was comfortably furnished with everything in good repair. Owner George was always available by telephone if needed but never intrusive."

"First off, had great communication with Phil (owner). After we booked he sent out a welcome packet with information on the area, places to visit and eat. This Jonesport/Beals vacation house makes a great "base camp" with day trips we took to Lubec/Campobello, Eastport and Bar Harbor. The house was very clean and comfortable with a million dollar view. I work nights and was always up around 3am.....this was perfect to see the lobster boats heading out for the day with the majestic sun rises starting up over the islands and reach. Our day trips ended up running into the late evening so we always found great places to eat in Machias or Ellsworth on the way back from our day tripping adventures. We did manage to get one order in at the the Bayview drive up .....totally worth it! A must stop on the way to Jonesport/Beals is the Old Creamery Antique mall in Ellsworth especially if you have an hour or 2 to kill before check in time. I was stationed here 25 years ago and area hasn't changed much since then let alone the last 100 years? I would definatly stay here again and can't wait for my next trip back!"

"We wanted a quiet place close to the water that was near favorite hiking places (Great Wass Is., Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge, Bold Coast & Campobello Is.) and this was it! We spent a wonderful week with wonderful weather, breakfast on the deck in the warming sun every morning, watching eider ducks and an occasional loon floating and diving near shore, walks on Sandy River Beach & out to Bar Island. The cottage is very well equipped (kitchen had everything I needed to make most of our meals there). Though there are cottages close by on either side, they are screened by a hedge of trees and bushes so we had plenty of privacy. And the view of the sunrise is spectacular, not to mention the view at all times. This place exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it."

"This beautiful cottage was designed and built by the owner Ray and his wife. It is open and airy and even better than the pictures. The cottage was perfectly cleaned when we arrived and stocked with everything that we needed for our stay. Ray greeted us as we pulled up, let us unload our gear, and then came by to tell us about the cottage, and the area. He really went the extra mile for us, and that alone is a major reason to recommend this cottage. There is a second cottage on the property that the owner use, so they are generally there if you need them.
The cottage is located across a two lane road from the oceanfront, and a kind neighbor lets you cross his property to access the rocky beach. In the morning you can hear the lobster boats going out.
During our first couple of days here, we did not feel the need to drive anywhere. There are two nature areas within an easy walk from the cottage, and the walks provided there kept us occupied.
Bar Harbor, Lubec, and Corea are all an easy drive away for outings. There is also a good grocery store, and a great Mexican restaurant in Milbridge.
Don't expect your cell phone to work here, and the provided wi-fi was pretty weak. But, you can walk up to the entrance of the hike up Pigeon Hill, and you will get cell phone data access."
