"Our third year spending a week in this family cottage on Gouldsboro Bay, and have already asked Laura to book us for 2016. Quiet, rustic, oceanfront with a nice view and breezes off the bay through the screened porch even on hot days, just the way we like it. We recommend the Darthia Farmstand in Gouldsboro, Painted Pepper Farm's phenomenal goat's milk gelato, and the local farmer's markets (Milbridge or Machias) for fresh blueberry pies. Hikes nearby at Petit Manan Point, in the National Wildlife Refuge, with dogs welcome on leash, and up Pigeon Hill (on the road out to Petit Manan) are perfect for hot summer days. Looking forward to next year!"

"Beautifully restored and decorated farmhouse that had everything we could have wanted. It is close to many great activities in down east Maine and New Brunswick, yet private. We enjoyed cooking dinners in the big kitchen and spending peaceful evening on the front porch. It was nice having two kayaks available to venture out on the water.
The amount of information and suggestions provided by Tom was a great asset. We used the printed information or brochures in the house nearly everyday of our stay."

"Our third year in Cutler and again at Sea Ledges. It seems like home to us. The folks we deal with for lobster and clams know our name and treat us like one of the family. All the people in this part of Maine are the friendliest people we have ever met and we have traveled the world as Airline pilot and Flight attendant. Of course Helen's in Machias, Frank's in Lubec and the Chowder House are great places to eat, but we found another place that is typical of this part of the country. As you drive into Machias just past the Gulf Station, on your left you will see a shack with people lined up in front of it, The Riverside take out. STOP! The food is out of this world and there are places to sit and have a lunch by the water. All the places that have outside seating are dog friendly. The two guys that run the Riverside fixed Bailey our Chocolate Lab, a cup of ice cream that we almost fought him for. We had our family visit us for couple of days and they loved their short stay. When we left, we had a nice chat with Julie and Mike who are the managers, and it was saying good by to family and good friends. When you visit this part of Maine, you not only have a wonderful time, you will have a wonderful experience."

"This is real Maine. No fancy furniture, no LL Bean, no lace-edged towels or shiny faucets. Just a beautiful rustic cottage outfitted simply with all you need to enjoy the pleasures of Down East -- the food, the serenity of Boyden Lake, the bold coast hiking, the lobster and all the rest. The proprietess is generous with her garden, her spice rack and her vast appreciation and knowledge of the area. A wonderful spot for a summer vacation. Don't forget a daily dose of the hammock!"
