  • Very Nice Cottage and Owner

"This beautiful cottage was designed and built by the owner Ray and his wife. It is open and airy and even better than the pictures. The cottage was perfectly cleaned when we arrived and stocked with everything that we needed for our stay. Ray greeted us as we pulled up, let us unload our gear, and then came by to tell us about the cottage, and the area. He really went the extra mile for us, and that alone is a major reason to recommend this cottage. There is a second cottage on the property that the owner use, so they are generally there if you need them. The cottage is located across a two lane road from the oceanfront, and a kind neighbor lets you cross his property to access the rocky beach. In the morning you can hear the lobster boats going out. During our first couple of days here, we did not feel the need to drive anywhere. There are two nature areas within an easy walk from the cottage, and the walks provided there kept us occupied. Bar Harbor, Lubec, and Corea are all an easy drive away for outings. There is also a good grocery store, and a great Mexican restaurant in Milbridge. Don't expect your cell phone to work here, and the provided wi-fi was pretty weak. But, you can walk up to the entrance of the hike up Pigeon Hill, and you will get cell phone data access."

  • My weekend getaway

"I found this to be an EXCELLANT place to relax and enjoy the ocean view, sit and read,or enjoy hiking. We went to the salmon festival in nearby Eastport, walked about in town, and rock climbed, even with my 82yr. old mom. We even found it enjoyable in hazy or overcast skies. You can hear the ocean and see loons, seals, eagles and ducks."Oh" and a friendly porcupine."

  • Peaceful retreat on the water's edge

"This is a very special place, quiet, off the beaten path, and right on the water. Spectacular sunsets, sun porch a great spot for all weather, accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Loved the cooker!! I appreciate the owners gentle impact on the environment, the solar system, and live lightly message. It was so beautiful at the cottage that I didn't venture out much in my car to explore the vicinity. Instead, lots of walking locally along the rocks, woods, etc. There is a new house being built on the point past the cottage, so the unspoiled property beyond has been cleared and will be habited. Still, you cannot see it from the cottage and only evidence would be cars driving past and possible alternate walking routes. I will definitely return!!"

  • everything we hoped for

"Stayed here on this beautiful and quite cabin during our honeymoon. We saw a pair of kingfishers and a bald eagle while kayaking (on the kayaks provided) and tons of hummingbirds from the kitchen table. My new husband caught a sizable small-mouth bass within 5 minutes of casting out from the dock. When we decided to venture out, we were 20 minutes in either direction from the adorable towns of Lubec and Machias. If you plan to visit Campobello Island, which is a bridge away from Lubec, remember to bring your passports. Kate, the property owner, was friendly and accommodating. We are eagerly anticipating a return trip."
