Paradise on the Ocean
"For starters, the owners were extremely accommodating from begining to end, even before we booked our stay! Every part of our interaction with the owners was pleasant, enjoyable and a breath of fresh air.
The home is even nicer than the pictures portray, if you are looking for a place removed from it all look no further. The house is well equipped and we didn't have problems with anything. There is Wi-f-Fi as well and it was suited to our needs. The interior is rustic, charming, very pleasing, and clean with beautiful personal touches that only an owner of a home can do. I don't think we could of had it better at a 5 star hotel.
We were right on the water, we had the trees behind us, the ocean ahead of us, and a beautiful sky above us. Even when it was cloudy it was beautiful! Our whole experience was otherworldly. It was so peaceful, our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. I wish that I could live there."

"Beautifully maintained cottage nestled among dense white birch and spruce forest with spectacular ocean view and sand spur beach. Peaceful and quiet and we were enthralled with the amazing night skies and star gazing that Downeast is famous for. Enjoyed the close proximity to our excursions- 1 hour drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor, 2 hours to Lubec and Campobello Island and 4 hours away from Fundy National Park, New Brunswick (passports required). Enjoyed great dining from Bar Harbors many fine restauarants as well as Ruth & Wimpy's Diner in Hancock and 44 Degrees North in nearby Milbridge. Cottage was comfortably furnished with everything in good repair. Owner George was always available by telephone if needed but never intrusive."

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. It was magical from the first moment we arrived. In the evening we easily lit the wall mounted gas lights and cranked up the old Victrola to listen to some vintage jazz 78s while we cooked dinner in the well equipped kitchen. You don't see or hear neighbors from the cottage. It's like your own private corner of Maine with gulls wheeling above and the sound of lobster boats puttering around in the bay. And the sea air mingled with the spicy scent of cedars and pines, is absolutely intoxicating. This was our favorite rental ever and we definitely plan to visit again soon."

"We wanted a quiet place close to the water that was near favorite hiking places (Great Wass Is., Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge, Bold Coast & Campobello Is.) and this was it! We spent a wonderful week with wonderful weather, breakfast on the deck in the warming sun every morning, watching eider ducks and an occasional loon floating and diving near shore, walks on Sandy River Beach & out to Bar Island. The cottage is very well equipped (kitchen had everything I needed to make most of our meals there). Though there are cottages close by on either side, they are screened by a hedge of trees and bushes so we had plenty of privacy. And the view of the sunrise is spectacular, not to mention the view at all times. This place exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it."
