"We had a great vacation with our entire family at this awesome cabin...it had everything we wanted. The kids loved kayaking and swimming in the cove. Nights were spent making smores by the campfire and in the hot tub. We had one rainy day where the pool table and ping pong table in the basement came in handy. The only problem was the week went by too fast...we would definitely come back again !!!"

"Our family (5 adults and 6 kids under the age of 10) enjoyed our summer stay in Lakeville. The home and location were great for our big family. We were afraid that 1.5 baths would be a challenge but it worked out fine and we had plenty of room both inside the house and outside. The lake is a short walk from the house and the kids enjoyed picking blueberries by the lake and playing in the water. There's lots of woods to explore and my boys enjoyed the "hikes" we went on. Lakeville is a good distance but yet central from the "touristy" areas but we did take a few day trips. Acadia (about 2-2.5 hours), Eastport (about 2.0 hours), and Bangor (about 1.5 hours). You'll want to buy your groceries before arrival as it's about 45 minutes to a grocery store (in Lincoln), but once you're settled, you have everything you need for your home away from home! Bob and Debbie were great to work with and we couldn't have asked for better "landlords"! Our only complaint was we didn't get to see a moose! :)"

"My husband and I wanted to spend some time in New England, because when summer hits, I want to go NORTH. This was my first time in central Maine (exluding Kittery/York) and it was exactly what we hoped for. Our goals were: relax, witness some of the beautiful nature that our Creator has made, relax, have fun, and relaaaaax. This cabin was just what we needed for that. The views of the lake, from nearly every room thanks to the many windows/sliding doors, kept us feeling serene. The kitchen was properly equipped so I was able to make dinner a few nights, which is a relaxing feature for me! We appreciated the modern bathroom - we were in a cabin, but we certainly didn't have to rough it!
The cabin was great for the 2 of us, but it would likely be cramped for any more than that. The twin bed on the screened-in porch would accommodate one, but it was honestly pretty chilly most nights so I'm glad we had the upstairs king size bed!
While visiting Pine Point, we took day trips to: Eastport/Calais, Bangor, Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park, and one day we went for a drive just to see Mt. Katahdin - no hiking up the mountain for pregnant me. The location in Lincoln was great for a small town feel, with plenty of whatever you needed around. (Little did we know upon arriving that Lincoln is one of the bigger towns in the area!)
If you're planning to eat in town, the Timberhouse Restaurant is incredibly affordable and has fantastic homemade pies. Our last night in town we visited Gillmor's, where we each had a "down east potato boat" - a massive baked potato stuffed with haddock and smothered with lobster cream sauce. That may very well bring us back to Maine another time. ;) The Farmer's Market was in Lincoln on Friday (and Calais on Tuesday) so be sure to check it out if you're looking for handmade items or homemade food."

"This area of Maine is a true get-away. We had a relaxing, peaceful week's vacation. The house was as pictured, had everything we needed. No problem with the propane & generator for power, allowed the important amenities such as lights, refrig, running hot water; just like home. Furnishing were clean and comfortable. Bring your own DVD movies! The lake and the dock is where we spent most of our time during the day, and a big campfire at night. The water was crystal clear and fishing was good. With the kayaks and canoe we could see the entire lake. This would be a great place to go with a group of people. If quiet and restful is what you are looking for I recommend it. If you’re looking for day trips and lots of things to do besides fishing, reading, and games I suggest somewhere else besides Maine."
