  • Memorial Day Weekend 2014

"Our family had a fantastic time at the Lakefront Retreat. The owners are very welcoming. The cabin and the property is beautifully maintained in a quiet, private setting. The cabin has all the amenities of home. Junior Lake is a pristine, beautiful lake. The fishing for Salmon was excellent. The owners were very knowledgeable about the area and where and how to catch fish. Within a short drive you can get gas, bait, groceries. The owners and the people in the area are happy to help with any assistance you may need. It is a wonderful retreat location when you want to get away from it all. We will definitely make return visits. We highly recommend this Lakefront Retreat on Junior Lake."

  • A haven of calm and tranquility

"Arriving at Tomhegan camp is a joy after leaving London 2 days before. The situation on Moosehead Lake is perfect and it combines the peace of the forest with the reassurance of knowing people are around and there are always Kayaks to be rented. The cabin we stayed in was perfectly comfortable without being over appointed and we could watch the deer and wild life roam in front of the house. The water was surprisingly warm and a joy to swim in. Perfectly clear of course. We went for long walks, good kayak trips and treated ourselves to a trip in a 1954 build Seaplane which I can recommend. Our teenage/young 20's 'children' enjoyed it as well and appreciated the nature. I enjoyed the long private drive (4 miles maybe) which was perfect for a morning run. The camp is very well looked after by Norm and Leona who even treated us to a trip on their boat and made us feel really at home. Boats/kayaks/canoe are available for hire. We look forward to returning one day."

  • A little piece of heaven

"What a great home! Thank you Ryan for opening your vacation home to us. We had a wonderful time hiking, kayaking, fishing and exploring all the lake had to offer. The house fit us all comfortably and was exactly as pictured and described. Loved the view of the lake while sitting drinking our coffee in the morning and the stars at night while we sat at the fire ring. We all had one of best vacations ever!"

  • What a lovely waterfront home in a very private setting and intown location in Greenville, Maine.

"Thank you for opening your beautiful home for our enjoyment. We were able to experience all of the intown activities of Fly-In Weekend and from the dock we watched as the float planes passed by your place. Our family found your intown location a great base for experiencing all that the Moosehead Area has to offer. We walked into town for shopping and dining and hiked Mt. Kineo and Big Moose Mountain, what amazing views! We dined at the Blair Hill Inn and saw the most amazing sunset, made some new friends and had a ton of laughs at the Stress Free and the Black Frog. There is so much to do right from your door. Boating, hiking, fishing, shopping, kayaking, moose watching or just relaxing by the lake. In the evening we enjoyed a bottle of wine as we watched the sunset from the balcony off the Master Bedroom Suite and relaxed in the jacuzzi. For a peaceful end to the day we listened to the loons as we fell alseep. The kids got to enjoy the stars, tell stories and make s'mores in the fire pit. They spent most of the day fishing from the dock and playing on the shore that we barely heard from them all day and are already asking when are we coming back. It was so nice to be able to launder their clothes and towels in the laundry room so that we didn't have a ton to clean when we got home. Your place offers so much space, 2 Living Areas and 3 decks with a view of the lake, 3 1/2 baths and an expansive lawn with a very private setting that our party of 10 felt we had the place to ourselves. We were able to get away from all the laughter and chaos in the upstairs Master Bedroom Suite. Looking towards the winter we see your place as an awesome base camp for snowmobiling.Being on the lake we can access most of the ITS trail system and dining downtown. At the end of the day we could get warmed by the fire in the Great Room, watch a movie and the snow fall. Again, thanks for sharing your lovely home, it was money well spent! We will be returning and telling our friends about the great time we had staying at your home. The Willette/Crater family"
