"This chalet style cabin is welcoming and comfy. The big, beautiful windows in the front were great for viewing the ever changing big sky. They also provided a bonus viewing of the neighborhood deer with fawn ,and a big, healthy red fox scampering by at least once daily , and lightning bugs galore! We rode our ATV from Rockwood to Jackman and saw a bear in his berry patch. We boated on Moosehead to our hearts' content. The cabin offers all the amenities . The beds are well appointed and comfortable. Rockwood...the way life should be. Thanks Don & Donna Daigle for being attentive and gracious hosts."

"The location was all we hoped for. Could not have been more excited from arrival to the last night. Bummed we had to leave. The home is very well maintained and cozy. Felt extremely comfortable. The recommendations of activities fit perfect into our very open schedule...lol. Visited the B52 crash site and were left speechless. Thanks for the great time and would not only recommend but look forward to a return soon."

"I have been bird hunting in this area for many years. This was the best place ever. All the comforts of home. Deer came by every night. One day as we returned from hunting, a deer was laying down on the lawn. It was awesome! Only 12 miles from my hunting spot, Kokadjo! My friends and I are planning to return next year. Thanks for everything!"

Total privacy; extremely quiet; peaceful retreat with only the sound of the river
"Think Retreat...this cabin is at the end of a very long dirt road (some potholes and ruts so take it slow) surrounded by woods and close enough to the river to be able to hear it. If you are looking for a place to rest and recoup, this is it. I personally feel it is the ideal romantic getaway. A perfect place for a writer and or artist or wildlife & nature photographer. A great place to be alone in thought. We never felt we had to leave the cabin. When laying in bed, look up and see the stars. The cabin is well equipped...I might suggest to bring a camping lantern or headlamps or any battery operated lamps...although they did have a few already there. The cabin runs on propane lights...I just happen to need or like alot of light for reading. Talking with Patricia over the phone seemed more like talking with an old friend. We spent most of our time in the large screened in porch, eating; making puzzles; playing scrabble; reading; resting on hammock, etc.
We drove an hour to go to the Pelletier's logging restaurant bar and grill, only to find out it had closed a month prior due to the economy...sad. We went across the street in Millinocket to the Schoodic Inn Restaurant instead and although it offered no atmosphere, the food was more than enough and was good. Baxter is definitely worth visiting and spending a day there, keep in mind, there is a fee to enter. We use to enjoy driving and then walking to Sandy Stream Pond to watch moose in the water...because it is a walk on wooden planks, I would not recommend it for people with disabilities. An hour and a half from cabin is also Bar Harbor and National Acadia Park...both worth visiting. Greenville near Moosehead Lake is a small tourist town and the Moosehead lake area is also where we would look for moose and also in Rockwood Maine.
Although we did not see any moose or deer, we did hear a deer call; an owl and coyotes. Saw a bear an hour away on the golden road/logging road near Baxter Park.
We hope to be able to return someday, maybe next time in the fall."
