  • Memorial Day Weekend 2014

"Our family had a fantastic time at the Lakefront Retreat. The owners are very welcoming. The cabin and the property is beautifully maintained in a quiet, private setting. The cabin has all the amenities of home. Junior Lake is a pristine, beautiful lake. The fishing for Salmon was excellent. The owners were very knowledgeable about the area and where and how to catch fish. Within a short drive you can get gas, bait, groceries. The owners and the people in the area are happy to help with any assistance you may need. It is a wonderful retreat location when you want to get away from it all. We will definitely make return visits. We highly recommend this Lakefront Retreat on Junior Lake."

"We had the best time on the island it was quiet and relaxing. Our three dogs thought they had gone to heaven swimming and chasing the ducks. Janet and heidi were very helpfull. So if your looking for a quiet getaway this is the spot."

  • Quiet, fun-filled relaxation in a beautiful cottage on a mystical lake

"We were drawn to this simple and beautiful cabin because of its location (in a small town on a gorgeous lake in the woods of Maine) and because of its lineage (the family of Ernest Holmes, the founder of Science of Mind, sold it in the 40s). Nearly all the comforts of home, coupled with splendid views of the lake on this 5 acre property made for a restful, peaceful week. We enjoyed the kayaks and fishing equipment. Having a fire and making 'smores brought back childhood memories. Walking into town (only 1 mile away) was easy and fun because the street is not busy and the folks are friendly (one neighbor told me what fish were biting and what lures to use). Don't come here if you don't like to be lulled to sleep by loons, the lapping of water or the occasional photo staccato of fireflies. DO come here if you want to unwind, center yourself and breathe in fresh ideas and new dreams!"

  • peaceful, easy feeling

"Rustic, comfortable cabin in the woods. The lake is right there with its beautiful dock to swim, read, and enjoy the view. Kayaks and canoes were available. The house is cozy and well-furnished (full kitchen, fridge, hot shower, two plush Lazy-Boys, linens included for the beds). There is no electricity per say-- propane lamps and candles were the main source of light in the evening, along with the wood stove inside and the stars in the sky by the lake. Best family vacation!"
