  • Wonderful!

"We vacationed for years in the Bath/Brunswick area, so we were a little apprehensive about staying in Tenant’s Harbor. Let me say, we were not disappointed. The house was perfect for our family, very clean and well-maintained. We were able to spread out with room to spare! We spent a lot of time on the screened-in porch which accommodated our entire family (11 of us!). Port Clyde, the neighboring village, is small, but quaint. It is very clean and has a pier with comfortable chairs for relaxing while enjoying the surrounding sights and sounds. Just what you expect a tiny fishing village on the coast of Maine to be. The general store has a lot to offer along with a café, which I hope to try next time. The Dip Net, a seafood restaurant directly on the water, is a great place to spend an evening. The food was great, and you just can’t beat the view! The nearby beach (about a mile away), Drift Inn, is wonderful! It’s perfect for adults and children. When the tide is out, there is a wide stretch of sandy beach. It’s a popular spot for paddle boarding and kayaking. We took the harbor cruise from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island. What a nice experience! The nearest big town, Rockland, has a lot to offer, plenty of convenience with grocery stores, etc. The old part of Rockland, Main Street, is great, with lots of shops and restaurants. We ate at The Pearl one night. It’s right on the water, and the food was amazing! Rockport, Camden and Belfast are also a short drive away. All in all, a great place to stay!"

  • Perfect Silver Wedding Anniversary Retreat

"We're from the UK and visited Pemaquid Point 4 years ago and fell in love with it. I went straight home and found this cottage online and have been saving it for a special event. As you can imagine my hopes and expectations were pretty high and I'm very happy to say they were met and exceeded. Laura was very friendly & efficient from the start, answering all my questions promptly by email and quickly returning our deposit after our stay. The cottage is in the most perfect location on its own little sandy beach. It faces west so we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets but the sun also appeared quickly in the morning so we had several breakfasts on the deck in the sunshine. We enjoyed some beautiful weather for late Sept/Early October and enjoyed cocktails on the beach as well as just chilling out & reading on the deck. When the weather wasn't so kind we just chilled out in the very comfy lounge with the doors open, enjoying the views and listening to the sea. The garden is a bit of a nature lovers dream. Monarch butterflies visited the asters and we watched loons, cormorants and seals from bed. We were also lucky to see 2 bald eagles flying over the deck. The cottage comes well equipped with wildlife identification books and we made full use of the telescope and binoculars for wildlife and star gazing. The bedroom has the same fabulous views. We slept with the windows opened and listened to the sea. The bed was very comfortable - I rarely sleep through when we're on holiday but did on this trip. The kitchen is very well equipped, as is the whole cottage - just those little things like arriving to find loo paper, coffee filters, tea kettle, soap, salt & pepper, washing up liquid, powerful shower, working WiFi make all the difference. We ate out at King Eiders Pub in Damariscotta a couple of times and Shaws at New Harbour. However we fell in love with the cupboard café, which is a couple of miles away, and their cinnamon buns - we breakfasted there 4 times in one week. We drove over to Mount Battie at Camden and Marhsall Point Lighthouse ( both about an hour ) and also went to the Botanical Gardens ( 45 minutes ) and Freeport for LL Bean ( 1 hr ) and, of course, the lighthouse and Pemaquid Beach. We've stayed at many vacation rentals worldwide and this made for one of the best holidays we've had. Thank you"

  • Bay Front Perfection

"Our family of 7 spent four fabulous nights during over Columbus day weekend. This beautiful home on a magnificent bay front setting with a huge private property very close to Bath is everything we imagined it to be and so much more. The house is really a home more than a vacation rental. The furnishings are lovely and comfortable. The home is equipped with everything you would want including high end appliances and every conceivable thing you need in a kitchen. The bedding is lovely and luxurious. The entire home is immaculate and decorated to perfection. The owners have left everything you would ever need to be used generously and they encourage you to use everything as if it was your own home. We boated and fished and played tons of games. We used the hot tub and had wonderful dinners made in the huge fully equipped kitchen and enjoyed the surrounding towns. But nothing matched the incredible views of nesting bald eagles in the backyard which overlooks a gorgeous bay. Thank you to the Tilsons who own this wonderful home, communicate so quickly and openly and attended to our every need so graciously. We will be back!"

  • Girls Getaway

"Our group of six women travelers spent a week in September at this wonderful cottage along with two dogs. Some of us made full use of the canoe and kayaks for touring the lake and getting some exercise while others made use of the comfy decks and lounge chairs. The water was warm enough to swim and we took full advantage. We took turns cooking in the very well equipped kitchen and only left the cottage for a trip to Belfast for shopping and lunch. On the two nights when it was chilly we made a fire in the fireplace and were toasty warm in the living room. There were nearby hiking trails and we enjoyed walks in the woods with the dogs. It was a great relaxing vacation for all of us."
