"This rental is really special. We loved everything about the property – so much care was taken with the landscaping and the outdoor seating and the beautiful vistas – there was literally something new to discover around every corner. It made me happy every time I turned into the driveway to know what was awaiting us. It's really hard to describe how lovely the property is but trust me... The Boothbay region is a fun place to explore – if you have kids, DO NOT MISS the Maine Coastal Botanical Garden, which is right around the corner from Arden. We spent most of the day there and had we known they had kayaking, we might have spent even longer. There is also a small little aquarium just down the road - small as in one room - but good for an hour or so of fun for the kids. The upstairs unit was really comfortable with everything you’ll need. It was spotlessly clean (something I don’t always find in VRBO rentals), the kitchen was fully stocked, the bed was comfortable and there was a fireplace and TV/DVD player for the occasional rainy day. The washer/dryer unit was nice to have as well. This is by far the best all-around VRBO rental we've had in Maine; I'd love to return. Thank you!"Guest: Anne Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 9, 2014View listing
"Where to begin? Family friends had asked us to join them on vacation in what they called the best place on earth to unwind. How could that be….well we saw firsthand what they were referring to. Seas the Day was by far the most breathe taking, peaceful, place of serenity that we have visited yet. From the sunrise to the exceptional view of the sunset we were at peace. This home is so welcoming; the home owners have done vacationers a favor by allowing them to experience a slice of their heaven. To be able to enjoy sleeping with the sound of waves crashing, walking down to the water’s edge to see nature first hand, fresh cooked lobsters delivered to the door, Dot’s fresh baked pies daily, resting in the hammock for hours watching the ocean view or just to venture through the local towns to enjoy all that they have to offer…..the list is endless. My husband and I now know what they meant by Best Place on earth to Unwind and we will surely be back next year to enjoy this with them again! Bill & Bonnie have opened their home for others to enjoy, we thank you!!"Guest: Crystal Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 15, 2014View listing
"We had a delightful time in Georgetown. The house is very private and comfortable. The island itself is lovely to wander about, great sea food at Five Islands, and lovely walks all over the area, including along the beaches. The surrounding area of Maine is also great to visit - lovely little villages and some great art museums at Portland, Bowdoin, and Rockland/Rockport."Guest: Norma Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 25, 2014View listing
"Our multigenerational family of 12 just returned from a wonderful week at Schooner's Landing. The ocean front house was beautiful with warmly decorated rooms and peaceful views of the ocean. The downstairs area provided the grandchildren with many activities, from toys to video games, and from watching a movie to playing board games. The kitchen was well-equipped and it was fun to cook while we all talked together in that spacious area. Each family had their own level of the house which was nice for comfort and privacy. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a welcome basket which made us feel we were in a "home away from home." The owners were available at any time for questions and were extremely helpful. We would recommend this home!"Guest: Roxie B. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 5, 2014View listing

For those who love good food, Young's Lobster Pound is a must and a favorite for locals and tourists alike. Here, you can pick your own live lobster, then enjoy it while overlooking the coast. Afterwards, take a stroll down Belfast's old-fashioned Main Street. The oldest shoe store in America, Coburn's Shoe, is still in business and a must-see. A tour of Victorian mansions or some of the many art galleries Belfast is famous for should also be on your list of things to do.
