  • 4th of July Accomodations Are Something To Celebrate!!!

"First, let me say that there are two important parts to selecting vacation accomodations: 1) The locale, and 2) the owner. Addressing my second point first, I have to say that the owner was very accomodating and easy to work with! That is very important when seeking not only a comfortable place to stay but a peace of mind and comfort level with booking a location virtually sight unseen. Although the pictures were accurate, sometimes you don't know how long ago they might have been taken. I can't say enough about the hospitality and flexibility Carol provided! Thanks! Now to the cottage itself... It is in excellent condition and located in a wonderfully quiet community! My personal favorites were the front and rear screened porches for taking coffee & reading! The thermostatically controlled gas fireplace/stove was nice on those few cool nights and mornings, and the skylights were tremendous vents during the last few days when the temps hovered around 90f! The beds, baths, and furniture were simple and comfortable. The kitchen had the ammenities needed to make full meals and store groceries. The value of staying at the cottage is much better when compared to the costs of most of the local hotels! Admittedly, I haven't always impressed my family with trip locations and accomodations. Turns out my tribe was a bit nervous when I told them I booked the cottage via VRBO. So, the biggest success came as my wife, sons, and future daughter-in-law all walked through the cottage upon our arrival and unanimously said, "Nice job picking the place, Dad!" We have already told several friends about the cottage and recommended it highly!"

  • A wonderfully peaceful, beautiful spot with a gorgeous water view and amazing sunsets!

"This was the second time my husband and I have spent time in this cabin near Boothbay Harbor, Maine. We were excited to come back this year. The house is very ample and really big inside. It has a great kitchen, well-appointed for anyone who enjoys cooking at home. We did breakfasts and most dinners and enjoyed two of the Boothbay restaurants on nights we didn't want to cook. It's clean and modern and thoroughly pleasant, with a very nice deck for morning coffee and evening wine and the light changes all day - amazing sunsets. A perfect location - secluded for peace and privacy but close enough to enjoy Boothbay and other attractions. The Botanical Gardens are spectacular, and there are beautiful hiking trails nearby. Can't wait to come back!"

  • Juniper Cottage

"We had the most wonderful family vacation here, everything was perfect! From the cottage itself to the beautiful location. We could not have imagined a more ideal Maine respite. The cottage was fully stocked with both essential and non-essential items, super clean, and extremely comfortable beds. Juniper Point was breathtaking and the families there so friendly. Jackie and Mark are have thought of everything and were wonderful to deal with. This was by far our most favorite cottage and trip! Thank you Jackie and Mark, we look forward to coming back next year. Hallie, Otis, Lexi, and Max"

  • A Wonderful Week to Remember!

"We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Buttercup cottage! Clean, comfortable and roomy with an outdoor deck overlooking beautiful Linekin Bay. Plenty of linens, kitchen utensils, pans etc made our stay quite comfortable. We picked up lobsters/steamers from the local fish pier on two nights and had everything we needed to cook them at the cottage and enjoyed our feast while sitting on the deck! The bed was quite comfortable. Although there is no A/C, we enjoyed the cool breezes off the bay in the evening. There are two fans available if you should need them. We brought our kayak and were able to bring it across the street to Barrett's Park and kayak all around the bay. The cottage is within walking distance to town, maybe a 10-15 walk. The owners couldn't be nicer and were happy to point out all the great local places to visit. Their recommendations for dining were spot on! We had a wonderful week exploring Boothbay Harbor, New Harbor, a day at Monhegan Island, kayaking to Burnt Island light house, Maine's Botanical Garden and the many hiking preserves with well marked trails nearby. Don't forget to go to Wiscasset and lunch at Red's Eats. An awesome lobster roll experience!! The lines start early, be prepared. Buttercup had all the comforts of home. The eclectic decor was fascinating and tastefully thought out and displayed. Each day, I'd notice something that hadn't caught my eye previously. We would highly recommend a stay at Buttercup. We look forward to a return visit in the future. There's still much more exploring of Maine's mid coast to do."
