"STOP! "Don't ya move a 'goldarned' inch", as the old Maine story goes from Marshall Dodge. This is the place you have been looking for. My wife walked through on our arrival and out onto the deck and said, "This is just as it was described". I certainly agreed and breathed a huge sigh of relief. This was the 1st week of a 3 in Maine for our 50th wedding anniversary. The second 2 weeks to be in the Belgrade Lakes at another of Scott's properties.
The cottage has been expertly renovated and decorated by Scott for your stay. The amenities are as described. The kitchen will accomodate all your culinary needs. We chose the loft bedroom for it's view and coziness.
If it gets foggy, you will not care!"

"Everything was perfect when we arrived, including replacement of down pillows and comforter to accommodate a severe feather allergy. As frequent guests to Spruce Point inn in the past we know the Booth Bay Harbor area very well and have always said "someday we will stay at Retreat Cottage" but since we could never plan far ahead it was always booked. This year we are moving to the West Coast so this was our last Maine vacation - we never dreamed the cottage would be available but it was.
The cottage is small - perfect for two adults and is so peaceful. We started and ended each day sitting in the chairs out front - coffee in the morning; wine in the evening. The kitchen is small but thanks to our manager, Sue we learned of Eventide and were able to pick up some very nice cheeses, meats and breads for anti pasto We also stopped at the York Farmer's market on the way up and got some meats and veggies. It was easy to whip up a gourmet meal a couple of days - and the others we headed to Muscongus Bay Trading Company in Round Pond which is a long time favorte.
Having a chance for an evening sail on our last night made the entire trip perfect.
Thank you Susan for helping to make this happen and to our host John Druce who elected to keep the Retreat Cottage and maje u available for special memories."

"This was our 10th visit to Boothbay, first at the cottage. We brought our dog for the first time and it was probably our best visit. Great view from the cottage, next to a working boatyard, no problem with noise, they are very civilized and we never heard them, just enjoyed watching some of the work. I'm an early riser and my early morning walks with Alf (our dog) to the lobster dock at the other side of the harbor were very pleasant. Stating close to downtown is a big plus.
I had several nice talks with Shane. Good landlord, very helpful, very personable.
Good location for day trips, which we did a lot of.
This area is very dog friendly and was good for us. Our dog is an important part of our lives.
We're looking forward to next year."

"The Lupine cottage, was more than we expected. The inside is well decorated and cozy, we fell in love with the view from the deck. It was a short walk to the harbor, and all the shops and restaurants. We would recommend the Lupine cottage to everyone. We hope to revisit again soon."
