  • Serene and beautiful

"When we arrived in late June the gardens around the home were gorgeous, this property does not seem like a rental in any way. The pictures of the grounds do not do it justice. We appreciated having the deep water moorings and dock, and found many calm water periods for the kayaks. We had beautiful weather and spent a good deal of time on the spacious and well furnished porch, with both garden and ocean views. The Boothbay and mid coast area have much to offer for activities, but we found that a lot of our planned day trips went by the wayside, as we did not want to leave this property! The home itself was well appointed and accurately represented. The owners live nearby and made it clear that they were available for any questions or other needs. I hope to stay here again!"

  • Listen to the tide come in right beneath your window!

"This tiny cabin is right on the rocks with the tide coming in and out directly below the windows! It is a magical spot, all you can see is the ocean, rocks, islands and curve of the shore. The view is unbeatable! We were there just before "the season" started so it was wonderfully quiet. I imagine it would be kind of crazed in the high season, but what seaside spot isn't? Also, the cabin is kind of set apart by the rocks so it will always be quieter than the some of the surrounding houses. Clean, everything in working order. Very helpful interactions with the owner. You can bring your dog to the Lobster Dock in East Boothbay if you sit by the railing and ask first. Listen, the food there isn't that great but the location is unbeatable and the staff is nice! The fireplace is made of stone with giant conch shells embedded between them. Fragrant sea roses bloom along the quiet little road. The cabin is near Grimes Bay which is like a teeeny tiny beach where you can go swimming at medium and high tide. The cabin is little but perfect: two bedrooms (one is a bit awkward with a strangely built bunk bed but good for kids!) and a great little kitchen and little bathroom with a shower and cozy living room with a breathtaking view which I can't even describe! A little dining table with another table out on the cute deck (a barbecue is there, too). A short drive to East Boothbay for groceries and the farmer's market and just a little further on for Boothbay Harbor. I would go back in a heartbeat."

  • Peaceful

"I treated my wife to a week in Maine for her 70th birthday and I could not have chosen a better place. An Tiggin cottage is a wonderfully comfortable and cozy home with beautiful gardens and placid views. The cottage is in great condition with all the amenities one would need. Our host, Brooke, has created a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the Boothbay region. Our week, the last of September 2014, blessed us with terrific weather. We hope to come back again in 2015. Thanks Brooke for sharing your cottage with us."

  • Fall is beautiful

"We had a great stay. Arlen greeted us and showed us around this very interesting home with lots of unique touches. We loved Boothbay Harbor as a place to do a LOT of things. We rode bikes to the Botanical Gardens (only 3 miles away), which is a must see if you visit the state of Maine. It was voted as the best public gardens in the US, and we would agree. We did a 2 hour boat trip to see light houses and seals. We did hikes - especially liked the one in Linekin Preserve beyond East Boothbay (stop at the General Store for lunch). And we ate - a lot. Ports of Italy, Thistle Inn and Boathouse Bistro were favorites for dinner. Best "lobtah" roll was at the Trevett General Store beyond the Botanical Gardens."
