  • Perfect place for our last "hurrah of summer"

"The Owl's Nest was the perfect place for our family of 8--4 grandparents, 2 children, and 2 grandchildren. The expansive porch was the perfect setting for our morning cup of coffee as we watched the fishermen check their lobster traps and a glass of wine in the evening as we watched the sun set. We fished (our grandson caught a lobster on his fishing line) , played ping pong, made smores by the fireplace, walked to the East Boothbay General Store for doughnuts each morning, and simply soaked in the beauty of our surroundings. It is the quintessential Maine cottage with every amenity needed to have a fun filled week--comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, and a perfect location for easy access into Boothbay."

  • Would definitely recommend to everyone!!!

"We stayed at the Cedar Cottage and it was great!! Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids and it was very clean! The owners were very helpful throughout the renting process from start to finish. Thank you again Paula for telling us about going through the canals on the lake, they were awesome! So much to do and not enough time to do it in. From swimming to fishing to boating it was just an all around great experience. The owners were very thoughtful in asking if the property could be mowed and were willing to work around our schedule so we wouldn't be bothered with it. The lake is beautiful and clean and we loved the little beach area. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a carefree vacation spot with plenty to do!"

  • Very quiet lakeside retreat

"Peaceful and relaxing. Spacious sleeping arrangements. Enjoyed using the kayaks, grill, and deck. Less than half hour to Hallowell (for small shops and large antique mall) and Augusta. Visit the State of Maine museum! Very nicely done and extremely inexpensive ($2 for adults, $1 for teens). Hussey's General Store is nearby and a must-see: guns, ammo, wedding gowns, and cold beer! Suggestions: additional seating for dining. Cabin sleeps 8 comfortably but only 3 chairs for dining. Also, anyone taller than 6' needs to duck through doorways and on second floor."

  • Best Vacation Ever

"We had a great experience at the Irish Rose. It was perfect for our needs. The home was as advertised, spacious, fully equipped and comfortable. We loved hanging out on both porches. The cove was great for kayaking at high tide and beach combing at low tide. The location, between Camden and Rockland, was convenient but without the throngs those areas attract. The owners, Alex and Siobhan, were responsive without being on top of us. We would like to thank them for their hospitality. We would happily recommend the Irish Rose and hope to return next year."
