  • A wonderful cottage and location

"We just returned from a wonderful stay at Ginny and Bob's cottage. This cottage was perfect - sparkling clean, fully appointed, and situated in a secluded wood overlooking salt marshlands. The back porch was our favorite spot to sit and gaze at the low/high tides and listen to the birds. Ginny and Bob are perfect hosts - friendly and helpful - and we enjoyed their studio tour and we brought back many fine items of pottery. If we return to Maine, we will definitely be calling to secure another stay at this lovely cottage."

  • Listen to the tide come in right beneath your window!

"This tiny cabin is right on the rocks with the tide coming in and out directly below the windows! It is a magical spot, all you can see is the ocean, rocks, islands and curve of the shore. The view is unbeatable! We were there just before "the season" started so it was wonderfully quiet. I imagine it would be kind of crazed in the high season, but what seaside spot isn't? Also, the cabin is kind of set apart by the rocks so it will always be quieter than the some of the surrounding houses. Clean, everything in working order. Very helpful interactions with the owner. You can bring your dog to the Lobster Dock in East Boothbay if you sit by the railing and ask first. Listen, the food there isn't that great but the location is unbeatable and the staff is nice! The fireplace is made of stone with giant conch shells embedded between them. Fragrant sea roses bloom along the quiet little road. The cabin is near Grimes Bay which is like a teeeny tiny beach where you can go swimming at medium and high tide. The cabin is little but perfect: two bedrooms (one is a bit awkward with a strangely built bunk bed but good for kids!) and a great little kitchen and little bathroom with a shower and cozy living room with a breathtaking view which I can't even describe! A little dining table with another table out on the cute deck (a barbecue is there, too). A short drive to East Boothbay for groceries and the farmer's market and just a little further on for Boothbay Harbor. I would go back in a heartbeat."

  • A Great Vacation

"A Great Vacation My wife and I rented this cottage in August of 2013: we found the owners easy to deal with - straightforward, accurate, and prompt. We also found the website description to be complete and accurate. The information sent us made cottage easy to find and access. The water supply was good, the parking convenient and private. The cottage was clean and well-kept, the linens provided were clean and altogether adequate. Many rentals don't provide linens and pillows, so this was a real convenience. The views from the deck, screened porch, and living room were every bit as good as shown on the website. We had wonderful weather and greatly enjoyed just sitting on the deck and watching the tides, the sunsets, and the occasional lobster boat or sailboat go by. We were able to gather perfectly good mussels (check for red tide with the Maine Department of Marine Resources!) within 50 feet or so of the cottage. The kitchen and equipment were good, the lobster pot was the nicest I've seen for 2-4 lobsters. (Soft-shells, the only way to go, were $3.49/lb. at Mosquito Lobster Co., 5 minutes away in Port Clyde - a trip I made frequently) Our only complaint was that we could have used a couple of extra lobster picks and nut crackers - but that didn't seem to slow us down much. Although the cottage provides quiet and privacy, the short distance to Port Clyde and Tenant's Harbor enabled shopping, dining, etc. For example, we really enjoyed the lighthouse tour on the Laura B. out of Port Clyde, All in all, we had a lovely time, and look forward to repeating it."

  • A lovely place

"My fiance and I stayed here for a couple nights and could not have asked for a better place. Bill was super hospitable, had great dinner recommendations, and suggested some incredible hikes around the area. He was knowledgeable about Camden and we had the best time staying at Castleview by the Sea. There is nothing quite like waking up and seeing the incredible view from your windows, and walking past beautiful homes to visit the historic town for the afternoon. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat in Camden."
