"Everything you can think of to feel at home is provided at 'Angel's Roost'. We hosted a birthday party complete with Lobsters and Steak. There were pots for the lobsters and a propane grill for the steaks, and a dishwasher to clean it all up! Wonderful front porch and back deck, though not on the water, both have views of the Penobscot. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, what you would expect of a sleepy coastal town.
A stone throw from the Searsport dock and shore, we launched our canoe for morning excursions. Very memorable. We will definitely stay again."

"A great place to come and relax with family or friends! Unfortunately the carriage house was being renovated so the kids were not able to go play in there. Also the beach house was nice but no bathroom yet. The house is decorated nicely and well equipped. Our kids had a blast here playing on the beach and exploring. The house is nicely located near Rockland and Camden.....make sure you visit these nice towns! Owners are super nice and made sure we were comfortable."

"My family of 9 had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Farmhouse for a week in June. This was not enough time to stay at this absolute gem of a place. The Saltwater Farmhouse as some family members said is like stepping into a "fairy tale". Upon arrival there was fresh fruit and flowers on the table. This was such a nice surprise. The house has more character then you can imagine or even to put in words. The rooms and Beds are comfy. The kitchen is great for cooking. The front room is well lit and perfect for visiting with family and for reading a book. The yard is magical. Chasing fireflies was a family favorite. The pAtio is perfect for grilling and watching the sunrise and sunset. The outdoor shower is a great addition. The location of saltwater is ideal for families who want to be close to the bigger cities but who don't mind driving a little bit through beautiful farm land and coastal scenery to get there. The house is located a bit of a drive off the main highway but it is a drive that I miss everyday since leaving there. This made the house even more special. The small towns and general stores close to the house became favorites of ours. It was a highlight to visit The Port Clyde General Store Each Day. The house will forever have a special place in our hearts and we plan to return more often then we ever thought we would. The Lang Family are perfect to work with. They were very attentive and responded quickly to all of my questions. Even though I have never met them, they feel somewhat like family. I can't thank them enough for sharing their wonderful place."

"We stayed at the Stone’s Throw Cottage for four days while celebrating our anniversary. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway. The natural and architectural beauty of the property cannot be measured. Stone’s Throw is the perfect blend of simplicity and elegance. While the photos and the description are accurate, what you find once you get there is that there’s so much more to the property. The cottage is nestled into the edge of the woods which provides a sense of privacy for guests in the cottage. The soft fragrant smells of the flowers and spruce trees surrounding the cottage will have your senses reeling. In the evenings, we opened the windows to let the cool air in; and even though it was dark outside and the living room was gently lit (lights are on dimmers, by the way!) our privacy was protected by the forest. It felt like home for us. The interior of the cottage is immaculate and beautifully decorated, right down to the linens. Josh is a wonderful host; and as it turns out he’s a handy guy to have around when you’re in a pinch. While we were talking with Josh outside the cottage, I discovered that we were late for a sailing charter. Josh graciously insisted that we jump into his truck and he’d “get us to the church on time”… and he did! We were at the dock in only a couple of minutes. Thanks again, Josh!
If you’re looking for something cozy and private, yet close enough to walk to town, then this is the place to stay. From the cottage, you can walk to the ocean in less than 5 minutes…. You’ll be in the heart of Camden in 10. Parking in town can sometimes be a little difficult. There are a lot of folks who drive in to Camden for the day to see the sights, so having everything you need within walking distance from the cottage is a blessing. A grocery store and a pharmacy in town will have everything you need to provision your pantry during your stay, don’t worry. Restaurants, shops, sailing… everything’s just a “Stone’s Throw” away! (you see what I did there?) If you’re into hiking, bring your gear. Camden Hills State Park is about 2.5 miles north from the cottage and has 30 miles of hiking trails through some of the most beautiful wilderness you’ll ever see.
Not only do we recommend staying at Stone’s Throw, I can assure you… we’ll be back (hopefully) soon!
