  • Stunning Views from a Cozy Cottage

"The Yellow Cottage was exactly what we were looking for - a beautiful location with sweeping views over the water while being rustically affordable. The house itself is very cozy and cute and felt larger than it looked in photos. The big living/dining room is great for congregating as a group! You won't find all the bells and whistles of fancier homes and inns in the area, like boutique shampoos or giant fluffy towels, but you won't pay for them either. The bathrooms are older/outdated but serviceable - they were the only thing we felt could use minor upgrades. But who cares about older bathrooms with these views?! We spent relaxing mornings and evenings sipping coffee then wine on the screened porch and walked out on the rocks to dip our toes in the brisk ocean water in the afternoons. Our stay at the Yellow Cottage was a heavenly and relaxing vacation that didn't break the bank!"

  • Beyond Our Expectations

"I have always wanted to share the beauty and magic of my birth state with my friends from afar. We searched long and hard for the most idllic accommodations and decided on this island get away with 3 other families. Every expectation was exceeded. Gigi and Matt were the most gracious hosts. Adventures included clam digging, harvesting mussels, lobster bake on the rocks, scenic boat excursions & fairy house construction along an enchanted moss covered trail. Gigi had exceptional patience with the children who wanted to help her in the kitchen at every moment. They published the daily menu, set the table, baked cookies and made pizza together. The food she prepared for us was delicious & healthy. We highly recommend this vacation destination. It was an amazing week."

  • Wonderful getaway

"Al's Lupine Cottage is perfect for visiting the bustling harbor while maintaining the serenity of nature that this location offers. With a deck overlooking the large backyard, you can enjoy Maine at its best while looking through the trees at the activity of the harbor below. We will have good memories of morning coffee and evening wine on the deck! The cottage is immaculate, well-decorated and generously supplied with all your needs. We previously stayed at a top-notch bed/breakfast in BBH, but we prefer the privacy of this cottage. The walk to town is just long enough to be refreshing, and the path is a better option than the steep road. However, don't miss a walk across the road to say "hi" to Moe, the delightful neighbor whose stories will entertain you. Our favorite meal was at Boathouse Bistro (yummy scallops and lobster dishes) and we highly recommend the Lazy Jack Schooner Cruise. Captain Joe was great! We found Al, the owner of Lupine, to be a consummate professional who wants to make sure his guests are happy with their stay. Thanks, Al, for sharing your home with us! We will return."

  • Quiet location on the edge of town, close to everything....

"The apt. at Arbor House was light filled, comfortable, well furnished, spacious and very tidy. We were right at home with the funky and eclectic decor where books and art abound. The bed was extremely comfortable. Location is ideal to downtown Rockland; leave the car in the driveway and walk to museums, galleries, great restaurants and cafes, theater and more. Owls Head, Camden, Thomaston, Rockport and other towns are easily accessible by car. This was our first trek to this area of Maine and we'll be back for sure. The hosts at Arbor House are friendly and available, but never intrusive. The garden was amazing, even in Sept."
