"The Lupine cottage, was more than we expected. The inside is well decorated and cozy, we fell in love with the view from the deck. It was a short walk to the harbor, and all the shops and restaurants. We would recommend the Lupine cottage to everyone. We hope to revisit again soon."

"My wife and I stayed at this gorgeous vacation home on Columbus Day weekend. It was so wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of greater Boston. Chris was warm and easy to work with allowing us to bring our beloved dog Oscar without hesitation. We went for walks along the main road, had breakfast at the cozy little cafe down the road, and attended the local pumpkin festival. The deck is huge with a picturesque view of the gut, we sat and watched the boats come in an out of the harbor with great peace and delight. There was WIFI, parking for 3 cars, 2 spacious bedrooms, blankets, books, board games, and kayaks for use. We basically had all the amenities of a 5-star hotel with the character and charm of this sleepy and nautical vacation home. South Bristol is a hidden gem and a must see and Chris was more than friendly and accommodating. We will be returning very soon."

"My wife and I and another couple spent a wonderful week in the Lodge...wife and I had been in the area two years before and served as guides...Lodge is perfect and huge and very clean. Pat, the cleaning lady kindly provided us with a vase of flowers from her garden and a wonderful home-baked blueberry loaf cake...traveled to nearby Maine Prison store, featuring inmate woodwork at very reasonable prices...also, Morse's Sauerkraut retail store for their weekend brunch, featuring one of the best hash we've ever had. Dined in Damarascotta at Crissy's for terrific breakfasts and King Eider for dinner and lunch and always had oysters on half-shell...oysters in this region of the country are the best...clean, tender, opened so that liquor remains in shell and always on ice. Also had our share of lobsters...Chap, the owner was wonderful and agreed that my wife and I could stay an additional three days to avoid crowds during the Papal visit in Philadelphia for an additional fee. All told, it was a great trip to Maine and wife and I are already thinking about returning to the Lodge in two years. As noted in previous review, pictures don't do this property justice. It's terrific!"

"Driving on Back Cove Road to Jutta's Place, we knew our vacation would be a dream; as we turned onto Ice Pond Road, we passed under tall evergreens, overlooking Ice Pond, but to our right was the beautiful sea. When we entered Trixi's and Lynn's home we felt welcomed by the loveliness of the furnishings, the cleanlinesness of every room, the spectacular views, and the attention to the comfort of their visitors. Each day, we walked the lovely roads, and though we planned many excursions, we fulfilled only a few--the wind chimes hanging in the tree near the two Adirondack chairs called to us, so our adventures were watching the lobstermen checking their traps, osprey fishing, and hummingbirds beating their wings right near us. This will be our "go to" home away from home. Thank you so much, Trixi and Lynn for sharing your special retreat."
