"This is an amazing location and home. The pictures simply cannot show how beautiful the main house really is...all the gorgeous wood-ceilings, porches, floors..it is stunning. Afternoon sunshine floods the very comfortable living room, deck and huge screened porch...and you enjoy lovely river views. It is a secluded, yet accessible retreat for nature lovers, readers, artists. Incredibly comfortable and inviting. Four of us stayed in the main house and our young, newly-wed son and daughter-in-law stayed in the sleeping cabin. Because it is not directly on the water, we did not have to worry about our toddler granddaughter as much as we may have had to at other places. The short walk to the water was pretty, the dock, with rocks, seals, and sunsets, is outstanding, and the many hiking trails throughout the property added to our days. Also, our dog could happily go out the door and not get into any mischief....a blessing! We have lived in Maine and also have rented many different homes...unless you plan to go north of Acadia, you will probably not find a location that is as unique as this, and yet so well-located that everyone can find his/her entertainment for the day!"

"My wife and I enjoyed a two week stay in the Maranatha Cottage in late August and early September. The cottage sits behind the larger house that’s also available as a rental from the same owner. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with a new refrigerator and stove and although there were only two of us, there is ample sleeping space for a larger group. The cottage sits a few dozen feet further back from the water than the main house but there’s a lovely view of the sunrise over the water from the master bedroom window. The two properties sit at the water’s edge at the end of a cul-de-sac so it’s very quiet and peaceful throughout the day. This was a working vacation and we were away each day until evening, so we especially enjoyed sipping a glass of wine on the beach at sunset. While the location feels remote, good restaurants, shopping and services are available a few miles away in Thomaston or Rockland. The excellent Slipway restaurant at the marina in Thomaston should not be missed. We had comfortable and enjoyable stay in the cottage and felt that it was very reasonably priced."

"My husband and my son and his wife booked this beautiful, well supplied, house on the water. We stayed for a week and had a great time. We enjoyed the deck. The beds were very comfortable and each couple had their privacy too! We were surrounded by quaint little towns and lots of scenic drives. The sky was intriguing with the sunrise and sunsets. We ate lobster everyday! I would definitely recommend this to my friends. The owners and booking agent were also very helpful and friendly"

"We had a delightful time in Georgetown. The house is very private and comfortable. The island itself is lovely to wander about, great sea food at Five Islands, and lovely walks all over the area, including along the beaches.
The surrounding area of Maine is also great to visit - lovely little villages and some great art museums at Portland, Bowdoin, and Rockland/Rockport."
