  • You won't find a better vacation spot than this!

"This was our second year staying at this cottage, and it felt like home the moment we stepped through the front door. We love this place and can't say enough about it! We kid the owners that one day this will be ours, but in the meantime we love "borrowing" it from them! Very clean and well-maintained, you don't have to worry about anything. We had many seals on the rocks in the cove this year - not so many last year - and enjoyed kayaking this year for the first time. The seals would pop their heads up to let you know they were close by. Be sure to visit the Maine Botanical Gardens while you are here -- just a 25 minute drive away."

  • Maine Magic

"I just returned from two glorious weeks at the Hawkweed Cottage. This was my third visit, and it gets better every time. The home is immaculate, comfortable, and secluded - a private oasis along the Maine coast. The home is just as pictured, and the owners take very good care of the property. The owners have also taken care to make sure that the home has all the necessities for a nice vacation. The best feature of Hawkweed is, of course, the view from the deck. It is simple perfection of nature - sitting having coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening - watching the sun rise or set, hearing the lobster boats hum in the morning or the loons in the evening. A perfect setting for relaxing. There is a nice swimming beach within a 5 minute drive. Hawkweed is a great location for exploring the surrounding area - great restaurants in Rockland and Camden, Camden Hills State Park for hiking, and it's not a bad drive to Acadia - even for a day trip. It was always a wonderful feeling coming back to Hawkweed at the end of a busy day. My pooch loved sitting on the deck, taking the sun and snoozing under the table in the shade. I love it and plan to return same time next year. Highly recommended."

  • Lovely getaway

"We had a wonderfully relaxing time at this peaceful cottage on the river. We lounged on the deck and watched sunsets, lobster boats, kayaked amidst seals and seabirds, explored nearby New Harbor and took a puffin cruise (highly recommend), enjoyed nightly fires, and hot tub soaks - all while juggling twins, a 1 year old, and 2 couples. Loved the mix of Maine rustic charm with comfortable beds, kitchen, and amenities. Owners were very friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend staying here."

  • Wonderful!

"We vacationed for years in the Bath/Brunswick area, so we were a little apprehensive about staying in Tenant’s Harbor. Let me say, we were not disappointed. The house was perfect for our family, very clean and well-maintained. We were able to spread out with room to spare! We spent a lot of time on the screened-in porch which accommodated our entire family (11 of us!). Port Clyde, the neighboring village, is small, but quaint. It is very clean and has a pier with comfortable chairs for relaxing while enjoying the surrounding sights and sounds. Just what you expect a tiny fishing village on the coast of Maine to be. The general store has a lot to offer along with a café, which I hope to try next time. The Dip Net, a seafood restaurant directly on the water, is a great place to spend an evening. The food was great, and you just can’t beat the view! The nearby beach (about a mile away), Drift Inn, is wonderful! It’s perfect for adults and children. When the tide is out, there is a wide stretch of sandy beach. It’s a popular spot for paddle boarding and kayaking. We took the harbor cruise from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island. What a nice experience! The nearest big town, Rockland, has a lot to offer, plenty of convenience with grocery stores, etc. The old part of Rockland, Main Street, is great, with lots of shops and restaurants. We ate at The Pearl one night. It’s right on the water, and the food was amazing! Rockport, Camden and Belfast are also a short drive away. All in all, a great place to stay!"
