  • Spectacular location

"Good stuff first. We stayed here with my family as sort of a reunion. My Parents, my sister & spouse, my brother & spouse. The house only sleeps six and they are VERY firm about this. No squeezing people in on the couch. That being the case my husband and I stayed with relatives until my brother left (they were only with us part of the week) We moved over on Tuesday. The house is situated on a cliff and views of the ocean are stunning and the house is designed so that you are able to see the ocean from not only the living room(sliders that open onto a deck)but also the master bedroom. the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs below is deafening. Spent mornings drinking coffee on the deck and If you are up early enough, you will be able to see Lobster boats pulling in traps right in front of you.At night with a glass of wine is even better. Coming home I can honestly say that I missed the sound of the waves very, very badly! We had the good fortune of spectacular weather (only one day of fog) and being able to view many sunrises and moon sets over the water, Gorgeous! I cannot stress enough how healing and magical it is. There is a wood burning fireplace (buy your own firewood) We took advantage of the fireplace on the foggy day and it was very relaxing to have a "stay in" day with a nice fire, it took the chill and the damp out and we enjoyed some old movies. One of the bedrooms has a small library with a nice selection of Books. I will recommend "Lighthouse Horrors" for some good old fashioned scary stories (Perfect reading for being in Maine on vacation with the sound of the waves in the background)The ocean is accessible by means of a steep path to the left of the house & there is a rope rigged up to assist you getting down to the cliffs, spent many hours just laying on the rocks and sunning & reading. Do not advise swimming here as the waves and the currents are too strong. Now the bad;The living room furniture needs updating. It is comfortable but worn. The dishwasher turns on at random, the dryer was not in good working order,TV is ancient &Flat screens are so cheap nowadays. No excuse not to update especially for over $2000.00 a week. The guest bedroom queen mattress needs replacement, old and probably one of the most uncomfortable mattresses my husband and I have ever slept & we traveled all over the world, (all of Europe) They need to update this mattress! Other then this id recommend this property."

  • Happy Travelers

"This was our first time with VRBO. It was also our first time going away for an entire month. On the way to our stay I worried, hoping that the positive reviews were accurate. Well my husband, daughter and I were very pleased from the minute we walked in the door. The house was immaculate. There was a beautiful vase of flowers from the garden to greet us on the dining room table. The owner, Debby, was always available to help us with any questions and always very concerned that we had everything we needed. Yet never intrusive and always respecting our privacy. The house had plenty of room for us, and was warm and inviting. My son and daughter in law were able to visit and another daughter who lives in the area was able to join us for occasional dinners. The dining room comfortably accommodated us all. The gardens were beautiful. Debby was even invited by the local library to have her home part of their walking tour of neighborhood gardens. We sat out in the very private yard relaxing and enjoying. Down the block I got the best cup of coffee as promised by Debby. We stayed for a month and never got bored. We took several rides up the coast to beautiful quaint Maine towns, visited lighthouses, museums, art galleries, beaches, parks and farmers markets. We bicycled around the neighborhood and walked by the water which was a short walk from the house. There are many good restaurants (some within walking distance) and of course the best lobster ever. We enjoyed visiting antique shops. We also visited Deer Isle, a quaint island with breathtaking views that was celebrating its anniversary and we were able to walk over the bridge and have delicious lobster there. We can't believe the month is over. There are still more things we would like to do ( like the railroad and Monhegan Island) and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Debby for your lovely home and your warm hospitality."

  • Amazing waterfront condo in the heart of Boothbay

"My family recently spent the week in the Portside condo and had such a fabulous time. The condo is beautifully furnished and maintained and right on the water. It is within steps of all of the restaurants and shops in Boothbay. We were there for a wedding and were able to see some of the other B&B's in town where guests were staying, and this place was by far the best, both in terms of comfort and price. We have a toddler, so staying in a condo with multiple rooms and living space was important to us over staying in a one-room lodging. This place is everything its cracked up to be - I would highly recommend it to anyone!"

  • Wonderful Wedding Week in Georgetown!

"I stayed here with my family during the week leading-up to my wedding at the nearby Grey Havens Inn. The Guest House was the perfect home base for us! The house is unique and beautifully designed. The tour that Deborah gave us upon our arrival was so interesting and thorough - I loved hearing all of the details about the design & restoration process of the home. The house is so big! At one point in the week, we had 7 people staying comfortably - with plenty of room! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make lots of meals at home - but being just a 2-minute walk from the General Store was really convenient as well (they've got great freshly-baked cinnamon buns & coffee!). We love how tranquil and quiet the area is. Staying at the guesthouse was absolutely relaxing! When we needed to run errands (foodshopping, etc) or wanted to go out and watch some of the games on tv, the short 20-minute drive to the town of Bath was just perfect. Getting out and about to other towns like Portland, Freeport, Wiscasset & Boothbay were just a quick drive way - we really felt like Georgetown was such a central location for seeing so many beautiful parts of Maine's Midcoast Region. Nearby Reid State Park is gorgeous - it was so nice that Deb has passes for guests. When our week-long stay was over, it was really hard to say good-bye to this beautiful guest house. We hope to return for another stay soon! Thank you so much, Deb!"
