  • Nothing else comes close

"We have been vacationing in Maine for 20 years, always renting houses on the ocean. Every year has been a delight - the weather, the food, the people, just breathing the wonderful air. This area is a paradise for we three mid-westerners escaping the St. Louis summers. This year we discovered this amazing cottage that was beyond anything we could have imagined. A perfect location with a view of the ocean out of most every window and every amenity that one could hope for, including large screen televisions, WiFi, large comfortable beds, amazing kitchen, etc. You'll love the charming beach cottage, fully furnished and right on the private beach. Certainly, in our travels, nothing else has come close to this wonderful cottage. The owners did a remarkable job to insure that our stay was the best it could be. Fresh flowers and fruit met us on our arrival and phone calls to be sure that everything was satisfactory. This is a place and an experience not to be missed. We loved it!"

  • Excellent vacation!

"We would highly recommend Hawkweed Cottage to friends and family. We brought our two dogs with us, and met our daughter and family there. We were thrilled by the seals, and their bellowing, and the opportunity to relax, read, stare at the sea, and kayak! The back deck is the summer family room, and the dogs and I would sit and enjoy the ocean view. Owl's Head Museum is just down the road, and a great place to visit. Great drinking water! Very clean, and well appointed! A much needed rest from stress! Thank you for great memories.................."

  • Jon from NH

"If I were to build my own house along the ocean, it would look like this beautiful cottage. It has natural pine walls and hardwood floors, giving a clean airy feel. With three bedrooms upstairs, each with their own sliding glass doors and balcony, and a giant front deck there are breathtaking water views from every room. Wake up to the sound of the ocean and the sunrise over Penobscot Bay. This cottage (really a house) easily fits two families with children with enough room for 10 people. Two showers, a completely open concept living room, kitchen and dining area gives everyone a chance to reminisce over the days adventures and plan the next day together. A stone and sand beach is just feet away from the deck. It is a sea-kayaker's dream house. Lobstermen can be seen working the waters and their catch is available for purchase without a drive to town. Whether summer or winter, this cottage has it all. Without question this is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The owner is attentive and appreciative and truly cares about the experience of those who rent this amazing property."

  • Wonderful Boothbay Area Vacation

"My husband and I and another couple had a wonderful time at your house in Boothbay last week. It was so great walking in the front door and looking right thru to the deck and the water beyond, what an intro. Your house was perfect for us, and we loved the location. I’m an early riser, so every morning I walked down Barter’s Island Rd over the two bridges, and out Knickerkane park. The early morning mist rising over the water where sailboats and lobster boats were moored made beautiful photo ops. I think I took more pictures in the neighborhood than I did throughout the the rest of our explorations. We explored the Boothbay region itself (highlights being the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, and a sunset cruise on the schooner Eastwind), Freeport (L.L.Bean), Bath (Maine Maritime Museum), Rockland (Farnsworth Art Museum, Puffin Visitor Center, and the Breakwater Lighthouse), and Camden. Your house was well situated for all those places and we took advantage of that. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us."
