"What a wonderful cottage. Abby has thought of everything to make it a a comfortable and relaxing stay. It is furnished perfectly and is in a great location. We had a wonderful stay, even though we were there in winter. Bird watching from the living room with our morning coffee was great. There were five of us and everyone loved the place. We will definitely be back."

"The Smith House is one of those magical properties with stunning views all-around, rolling green lawn space and endless sanctuaries of natural beauty! We just held our wedding ceremony and celebration at the Smith House and could not have picked a more beautiful spot for such a special occasion. Out-of-town guests stayed in the Smith House, camped on the property and stayed at the Squire Tarbox Inn up the road. The ability to utilize all of the property's stunning backdrops - the barn, the ocean view, and the salt water pond lake view made for a celebration like no other!! We hope to be able to return and enjoy this quintessential Maine property for some of future anniversaries!"

"Good stuff first. We stayed here with my family as sort of a reunion. My Parents, my sister & spouse, my brother & spouse. The house only sleeps six and they are VERY firm about this. No squeezing people in on the couch. That being the case my husband and I stayed with relatives until my brother left (they were only with us part of the week) We moved over on Tuesday. The house is situated on a cliff and views of the ocean are stunning and the house is designed so that you are able to see the ocean from not only the living room(sliders that open onto a deck)but also the master bedroom. the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs below is deafening. Spent mornings drinking coffee on the deck and If you are up early enough, you will be able to see Lobster boats pulling in traps right in front of you.At night with a glass of wine is even better. Coming home I can honestly say that I missed the sound of the waves very, very badly! We had the good fortune of spectacular weather (only one day of fog) and being able to view many sunrises and moon sets over the water, Gorgeous! I cannot stress enough how healing and magical it is. There is a wood burning fireplace (buy your own firewood) We took advantage of the fireplace on the foggy day and it was very relaxing to have a "stay in" day with a nice fire, it took the chill and the damp out and we enjoyed some old movies. One of the bedrooms has a small library with a nice selection of Books. I will recommend "Lighthouse Horrors" for some good old fashioned scary stories (Perfect reading for being in Maine on vacation with the sound of the waves in the background)The ocean is accessible by means of a steep path to the left of the house & there is a rope rigged up to assist you getting down to the cliffs, spent many hours just laying on the rocks and sunning & reading. Do not advise swimming here as the waves and the currents are too strong. Now the bad;The living room furniture needs updating. It is comfortable but worn. The dishwasher turns on at random, the dryer was not in good working order,TV is ancient &Flat screens are so cheap nowadays. No excuse not to update especially for over $2000.00 a week. The guest bedroom queen mattress needs replacement, old and probably one of the most uncomfortable mattresses my husband and I have ever slept & we traveled all over the world, (all of Europe) They need to update this mattress! Other then this id recommend this property."

"Our one week stay at this wonderful cabin was enjoyable and we are looking forward to retuning. My family of 5 had plenty of room to spread out and relax while looking at the fabulous views. At night we warmed up around the cast iron fireplace. The location was very convenient to all the coastal towns. South Thomaston was very unique with a small town charm , our favorite stop was the Kegg store were we picked up several delicious meals. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. Since returning home we have recommened this cottage to family and friends."
