Charming 100+ year old home, breath-taking waterfront view, spectacular sunrises!
"My son-in-law grew up spending his summers in Bayside, and he selected this beautiful property for our 2 week stay. Five bedrooms in the main house plus two in the carriage house gave us plenty of room to spread out and enjoy ourselves, but the huge porch (even bigger than it looks in the photos) was the place we all tended to congregate and enjoy the spectacular view of the Penobscot Bay, from before sunrise until late at night. Three of the bedrooms plus the TV room all have water views -- and we never closed the windows or the shades in our bedroom so we could enjoy it every waking moment, including some postcard worthy sunrises. Having both the century-old icebox-converted-to-a-refrigerator plus the modern refrigerator/freezer made keeping food and drinks for our large group a breeze, and the well-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking for a crowd. This Bayside cottage is just the place for those who want to stay in the village and venture no farther out than the Corner Store for the not-to-be-missed Maine blueberry ice cream and milkshakes, but it's also perfectly located for day trips to Acadia National Park, the quaint town of Belfast and the stately, historic city of Camden, or a climb of Bald Rock or Mt. Battie in Camden Hills State Park. We would love to return for another stay!"

"We stayed at the Stone’s Throw Cottage for four days while celebrating our anniversary. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway. The natural and architectural beauty of the property cannot be measured. Stone’s Throw is the perfect blend of simplicity and elegance. While the photos and the description are accurate, what you find once you get there is that there’s so much more to the property. The cottage is nestled into the edge of the woods which provides a sense of privacy for guests in the cottage. The soft fragrant smells of the flowers and spruce trees surrounding the cottage will have your senses reeling. In the evenings, we opened the windows to let the cool air in; and even though it was dark outside and the living room was gently lit (lights are on dimmers, by the way!) our privacy was protected by the forest. It felt like home for us. The interior of the cottage is immaculate and beautifully decorated, right down to the linens. Josh is a wonderful host; and as it turns out he’s a handy guy to have around when you’re in a pinch. While we were talking with Josh outside the cottage, I discovered that we were late for a sailing charter. Josh graciously insisted that we jump into his truck and he’d “get us to the church on time”… and he did! We were at the dock in only a couple of minutes. Thanks again, Josh!
If you’re looking for something cozy and private, yet close enough to walk to town, then this is the place to stay. From the cottage, you can walk to the ocean in less than 5 minutes…. You’ll be in the heart of Camden in 10. Parking in town can sometimes be a little difficult. There are a lot of folks who drive in to Camden for the day to see the sights, so having everything you need within walking distance from the cottage is a blessing. A grocery store and a pharmacy in town will have everything you need to provision your pantry during your stay, don’t worry. Restaurants, shops, sailing… everything’s just a “Stone’s Throw” away! (you see what I did there?) If you’re into hiking, bring your gear. Camden Hills State Park is about 2.5 miles north from the cottage and has 30 miles of hiking trails through some of the most beautiful wilderness you’ll ever see.
Not only do we recommend staying at Stone’s Throw, I can assure you… we’ll be back (hopefully) soon!

"We just returned from a fabulous weeklong stay at Maine Squeeze. We were two couples traveling by motorcycle from Michigan and chose to base our Maine stay in Camden. Great choice! The four of us agreed we love the area and our accommodations! We enjoyed the gardens and outdoor patio, the central location for heading north to Bar Harbor and Acadia, and south to Bath and Portland, the short walk to Megunticook Market, Mount Battie views, etc., etc. Additionally, the owner was very easy to work with and the VRBO description and details were spot on."

"My family just had the most enjoyable week ever. Enjoyed morning coffee and the quiet surroundings on the screened in porch overlooking the water. The cottage was clean and comfortable with all the necessities for the kitchen. The kids read a book and a half during our stay. You have access to a park pass, so we enjoyed two days at Reid State park beaches. Great boogie boarding. Even close enough to ride to the beach on our bicycles. The location is perfect close enough to Booth Bay Harbor to go on a Whale Watch and visit Burnt Island Lighthouse and Bath to visit Maine Maritime Museum. Amazing place. And Patti and Steve are wonderful hosts. Wish we had found this years ago."
