"Our great experience started right with our initial contact. Kirsten was extremely helpful, very quick to reply and she answered every question completely (and we had a lot of them). Upon arrival we were met by Becky who made sure we had everything we needed. The personal touch was very much appreciated.
The cottage far exceeded our expectations, it was clean, well cared for and very well appointed with all the things you would ever need. The view out of the back either on the boat shaped deck or direct from the living room or kitchen table was breath taking. We could watch the seals frolic on the rocks in the Damariscotta River day or night and this became one of our favorite things to do.
The location for us worked out perfectly it was about 60 miles to Portland and about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. There was a lot to do - from exploring the Pemaquid lighthouse to getting the freshest Loster cooked for you so you could bring it home to enjoy at Osiers Co-op (we went twice while we were there) we had great time in Maine and we loved staying at Becky and Kirsten's cottage. We highly recommend staying here if you can get a reservation. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have stayed there and met some very nice people along the way!"

"We just returned from another great stay at the Boathouse Cottage. The view was just as fabulous as we remembered and we enjoyed hanging out on the rooftop deck. We had a few days of rain and fog and we're thankful for the huge picture window where we could enjoy the scenery while staying cozy inside. The cottage was very clean and we liked having the kitchenette so we could eat in for some of our meals. Shane was great- we locked ourselves out and he came right over to let us back in! The location can't be beat and the view from the dock on the property is just amazing. We hope to be back!"

"We so enjoyed our stay in Islesboro at this wonderful home. It is a very private, beautiful location where your blood pressure will decrease immediately as you look out over the pasture filled with wildflowers to the sea beyond. The house itself is utterly charming and comfortable-clean as a whistle. It is well appointed with everything you need, and the decor is lovely. The hosts, Laine and Jon are warm, friendly and accessible and made us feel very welcome. Our only complaint is that we didn't book for a longer period of time. We can't wait to return for a longer stay next year. I highly recommend this spot- it is perfect in every way."

"My wife and I, along with our two children, stayed at this property for a week this summer (2015). To say it was fantastic would be an understatement. The property sits about 20' above a wonderful tidal cove that offers unlimited exploring for collecting shells or sea glass. We explored the entire coastline by Kayak and walked for miles along the water. It's one of the most serene and tranquil places we've been to anywhere in Maine.
The house is terrific and offered everything you might need. It's spacious, warm, and inviting and, which offers a great opportunity to reconnect with your family and friends.
The island is slow-paced. Everyone waves while passing by car or bike and in minutes, you'll feel your blood pressure drop and your ability to breathe freely consume you. Grab your bike and ride for miles - every inch of the island is welcoming and offers amazing views. We took the ferry back and forth a couple of times and enjoyed Camden (about 10 minutes away after you exit the ferry) and several restaurants nearby. Even the ferry ride is a vacation in itself. However, I do have to warn every future guest… your last ferry ride before you travel back home will not be enjoyable. It’s a sad experience and one that will most likely leave you questioning why you live where you do when places like this exist.
We've rented many homes before, but Michael (the owner) is above the rest. He's unbelievably welcoming and hospitable; always available for suggestions, any issues that may arise (none did for us) and respectful - he's just a down to earth, nice person. This property and the experience really set the bar higher for any future trip and we’ll most certainly be returning again and again."
