  • Love Round Pond!

"My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful week in this lovely, well stocked cottage on the banks of Round Pond, Maine. Laura's driving directions were perfect and we were pleasantly surprised by what we found on arrival. A well stocked, pretty little cottage in the woods. We shared the cottage with our 30 year old niece for the first two nights and the space was perfect for the three of us. The grill worked well for our outdoor cooking needs. Our favorite meals out included two excellent meals at Anhor Inn, a delicious lobster to be had at Muscongus Bay Lobster Co., and morning visits with Dot and Joe at Dot's Bakery, all within two miles of this quaint cottage! We took two trips to the Camden area and enjoye a five-star dining experience at Primo, in Rockland. Day trips included a visit to Damariscotta, a refreshing dip in the Bristol Pond, a bone-chilling swim in the ocean at Pemaquid Beach, the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, and a very fun voyage to Monhegan Island on the Hardy Boat! We've been travelling to Maine annually, from Wisconsin, for over 30 years to visit family in Portland. Being tourists in Maine is a somewhat new experience for us. Round Pond, it's environs, and most of all this lovely cottage, all contributed to one of our best vacations yet! The only drawback was the Mosquitos at sunset. But, the cottage was well stocked with repellant! Oh, who is the little old lady that walks down the hill on the property for her daily swim in the ocean?"

  • A vacation rental with all the comforts of home!

"We were so impressed with this vacation rental. This was our first visit to Maine and we felt right at home immediately upon arrival. The house was well appointed, spotless and amenities were numerous, from the well-stocked spice drawer, the pantry with every piece of cookware you might need, the pancake recipes on the inside of the cabinet, to the game shelves (there's even a playroom on the lower level with lots of toys,) hand soap, toilet paper and kleenex in every bathroom, along with dish soap, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent and fabric softener. The home is spacious and has wonderful views of the Sheepscot River from the deck and the house. There's even a canoe to take out on the river along with the requisite lifevests. The house has been lovingly taken care of. This was a nice mid-point for all the places we wanted to visit along the coast-it was the perfect place to unwind and relax after our days of sightseeing. Wiscasset is a very picturesque town and Red's Eats was our first stop of the week for Maine Lobster-their Lobster Roll was excellent, but make sure you come very hungry-it is huge! Other notable places to eat and visit: the Sea Salt Cafe in Damariscotta for breakfast, the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport, Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park(Excellent food, especially the popovers and strawberry jam-reservations are recommended) Pemaquid Point Lighthouse(gorgeous scenery) Ben and Bill's in Bar Harbor for ice cream(they even have lobster ice cream!), the Camden Deli has some yummy blueberry pie. We also went to a clambake on Cabbage Island-it was one of the highlights of our trip and a wonderful way to end the week -you will not leave there hungry! We visited Freeport and shopped at L.L. Bean and checked out Boothbay Harbor. The owner provided some excellent suggestions for places to eat and visit, too-all in all, a memorable vacation!"

  • Lovely Spot

"I had the pleasure of staying for a week at this beautiful spot. It was my "Mother's Vacation" so I was alone, but had my husband and children (11 & 16) joined, they would have enjoyed it as well. The house has gorgeous views and the private beach is easily accessed for beach combing and swimming. The house has beautiful high ceilings and a wonderful dining room with French doors that open to the view of the water. This would be a great spot for a family, even with small children. The owner is fantastic."

  • Quiet and Gorgeous

"My wife and I enjoyed a superb long weekend at this gorgeous waterfront property. The owner is extraordinarily attentive, the views are magnificent, and the location is ideal for easy trips into Rockland or Camden. We used two of the kayaks for a few hours of exploring nearby inlets and marveled at how many osprey were nesting in the area. Each day began with sipping coffee while standing on the rocks, and ended with sipping wine in the same spot. So perfect! One additional note: Don't miss dining at nearby Primo, an extraordinary restaurant. One of the best dining experiences we've ever had."
